The Inland Empire Lighthouse for the Blind, Inc. is a place where adults and children who are visually impaired can receive training to overcome the disabling effects of blindness or visual impairment. It is a place where they can prepare themselves to resume a full and normal life. All classes, instruction, materials, meals, transportation and referral services are provided at no charge to the totally and legally blind.

The Lighthouse does not receive funds from the Federal, State, County, City, or from United Way. Our primary means of support emanates from fundraising, Wills, and Trusts. Our blind students are most grateful to all their friends in the Inland Empire who have made our dream come true! Community leaders from Business, Industry, Labor and the Professions serve on the 18 member Board without compensation.
Services
Our Lighthouse for the Blind School may be temporarily closed, but the lights are still on! Our free services continue to be available in a variety of new ways. We are offering several zoom classes and our Learning to Live with Your Visual Impairment Support Group virtually. If you don't have internet or a computer, all you need is a phone to join in.
In the latter part of the 1940's, several concerned residents informally met to discuss the growing needs relevant to establishing a facility specifically designed for the legally and totally blind in the Inland Empire. Said efforts culminated in the purchase of a suitable residence located at 128 West 8th Street in San Bernardino in 1951.
We have made every possible effort to design the programs, classes, and activities at the Lighthouse to enrich and train the visually impaired people in our service area. All of our services are available free of charge, regardless of age, race, creed, color or gender. The only qualification is that a member receiving service be legally blind.
Become a beacon of hope by donating to the Inland Empire Lighthouse for the Blind. Your gift will make a life-changing difference for a person who is blind or significantly visually impaired.

We greatly appreciate individuals, corporations, and foundations who support our mission of providing life-changing assistance to individuals who are legally and totally blind so that they can achieve their highest level of self-sufficiency, consistent with their specific skills, general abilities and interests.

Easter Seals Thrift is a place on Baseline Rd in S.B., ca. While working there, I helped collect donations which similarly benefited disabled persons.

Awesome staff, very big and professional building with so many wonderful classes, such as support, braille, everyday living, cooking etc., computer, bible studies, ceramics, the list goes on. But the best part? The family atmosphere, friendly, compassionate. Everyone, students included help each other ! My son joined 3 weeks ago and has come so far, out of his shell, tackling his fears ! Love this place!
