Matt McQuoid is the owner of True North Builders Inc. He brings over 22 years of construction experience to TNB. Originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota, he and his family of 6 moved to Redding, California in 2011. When Matt isn't swinging a hammer, he enjoys swinging a golf club. He also enjoys playing basketball and downhill skiing with his wife and kids.
We are so thankful for the ways we have been blessed and count it a joy to give back, in small or big ways. This family of 6 were ready for a change. They wanted something fresh, modern and inviting. They wanted an island to eat breakfast around and new flooring throughout. They loved the color navy blue but weren't sure how to tastefully incorporate it into their space. After meeting with a designer and discussing the overall look they totally transformed their kitchen and had a space that said Welcome to all who entered.

Matt and his crew are absolutely awesome (Jeff, Tim, Shaun, and Matt’s son Josiah). They did such a nice job! They were so easy to communicate with and always showed up on time and cleaned up at the end of the day. Jeff built the cabinets and is a true craftsman! My wife and I are thrilled with our new kitchen. And the cost was very reasonable. Thanks guys!!!

We recently had TNB remodel our kitchen and 2 bathrooms. Matt immediately made us feel comfortable. We could tell this was an honest contractor. He understood our needs and what style we wanted, he gave us design options for each of the rooms. We choose which ones we wanted and construction began. The crews were polite, punctual and very good at their jobs. Our kitchen is absolutely beautiful! It seems twice as big. Functions perfectly.They custom built all our cabinets. Such beautiful workmanship. Bathrooms are gorgeous too. They do it all. So happy we chose them. I highly recommend this company

I soon as I met the owner Matt I felt very comfortable and knew I had chosen the right company. He understood our wants and needs. We were presented with different layout options. Chose the one That was the best for us. Their crews were professional knowledgeable quiet and clean. My remodels came out better than I could have ever imagined. I highly recommend this company.

What a beautiful experience we had with Matt, his team, and all of True North. Beautiful, in terms of the finished product of our fully remodeled kitchen and kids' bathroom, and beautiful also in terms of the relationship we had with the True North team. Our kitchen and bathroom are nothing but perfect and exquisitely completed in a timely manner. We fell in love with all those who served in our home. True North Builders are five star performers. Matt’s staff were on time every day and were professional, exercising quality work as the primary focus. We had a good size deck that had to be build from the ground up with a step down deck that held the hot tub as part of the project. We are not only pleased with the outcome of the work but feel it will be a “once and done” effort. We can honestly say that it was a pleasure to work with each and every one of his staff. We feel that the project turned out to be not just a deck but an enhancement to the house and grounds.

Our new deck came out better than expected. Matt and his team were truly interested in quality work. The materials used will likely make this a "once and done" project. The deck was a bit complicated because it was on a slope (thus required screening/skirting), and it incorporated a step down deck to allow easy entry to our hot-tub. We believe that the deck not only enhances the house but also our one acre parcel.

Matt is an awesome contractor! We used True North to turn a standalone 2 car garage into a studio apartment with a bathroom, kitchenette, TV area, etc. Matt had fabulous design ideas, found a great architect for us, worked with the city on permits and approvals along the way, and most importantly was an excellent communicator. The project was done on time and within budget, and we are thrilled with the results even over a year later. You'll be very happy, trust me!!
