I did not agree to have an awning installed, only an estimate prepared. However, the business owner showed up at my house a couple weeks later with an awning to install, which I did not agree to. Really! The gentleman came back to my house again same day and threatened to sue me for the awning he did not install and for no work whatsoever. I felt threatened and insulted! I have never encountered such unprofessional behavior. WOW!

I took a batch of commercial sewing into them and I waited 4 days for them to call me back on it and they never did. Went and picked up my items and took them to another business. Extremely poor customer service.

I popped in unannounced with a busted grommet on my dining fly - the guys there dropped what they were doing and fixed it for me for a very reasonable price! Clean shop, very professional crew!

As anyone knows who lives in Rapid City there are a ton of crooks running businesses here in this town, from contractors, roofing, etc. So it's difficult to find a business who 1. doesn't rip customers off and 2. doesn't do shoddy work. This business is the best it gets in tent/awning repair. I brought in my hammock that I love so dearly that was torn and getting in bad shape. I was afraid no one would want to repair it in town, but these guys used good quality materials and made it almost as good as new. AND they were reasonably priced and fast.

These guys did a great job fixing my boat cover! I called to see if they could do it and asked for a price quote over-the-phone. Kinda tricky business when they hadn't seen it but the bill was within one dollar of the quote and the work was top-notch. I asked about another project while I was there and hadn't realized that "tomorrow" was Saturday when I asked if I could bring it by. They said "we're closed on the weekends" but then followed-up immediately with "unless that's the only day that works for you, we'll meet you here...." 5 stars, because 10 wasn't an option!

When I put out the awning on our RV it split in half. We need that awning because it is also the slide topper. We called Black Hills at 8 am, dropped it off at 10 and had it back at 3 pm. They repaired the damage and resewed every other seam. Great service, and the price was very reasonable.

The repair of an awning over 5 years old was handled quickly; reasonably, and with personal advice for future positioning of the awning. The new, but experienced owner, also impressed me as very interested in the company doing good work. Highly recommended.

Industrial weight sewing needs can often be met by Black Hills Tent & Awning. Truck tarps, equipment covers, awnings and vertical shades. They don't make or rent tents but do repair them as well as tipis and ice shacks.
