Barbara Landy and Christine Plante met while working in New York City as fashion editors at Town & Country magazine. The pair honed their sense of style and design while traveling throughout Europe attending pret-a-porter shows in Paris, Milan, and London and scouring local shops after work hours.
Drawing on European chic mixed with good-old American know-how, the women designed homes for friends and family while maintaining careers in publishing.Soon requests for design help were pouring in, and Landy Plante Interiors was established as a full-time business operation.
