Central Security & Electronics is proud to be Highlands County's oldest existing local alarm company. With over 90 years of combined expertise in the industry, we are confident that we can assist you with your low voltage needs. Dana and his wife, Betty, resided in busy Stuart, Florida and found themselves escaping to the Heartland at every opportunity.

The draw was strong and eventually a decision was made. They sold their alarm company in Stuart and moved to Lake Placid. Central Security was established in 1988 and began as a one-man operation. We have grown steadily and now employ 10 Highlands County residents. The employees at Central Security pride themselves in their friendly, "home-town" way of conducting business.

Hard work, dedication and integrity are the trademarks of Central Security and their primary emphasis is always on quality service and honest concern for each individual customer. During working hours, we always answer our telephone promptly and are ready to assist customers with information and answers regarding their system.

In this busy, challenging world, we sometimes forget to acknowledge business partners who have made a huge contribution to the safety of our hospitals. We here at Florida Hospital Heartland Medical Centers in Sebring and Lake Placid, Florida Hospital Wauchula, are very pleased to have partnered with Central Security to ensure the safety of our environment.
With this in mind, our Sales Consultants will design the system that is right for you or your business. We are a local company serving Highlands, and surrounding counties and our team does not use high pressure sales tactics. We are here to educate you so you can make the best decision for your home or business.
We have been involved with camera surveillance for years and have witnessed the evolution from large black and white cameras and VCR's to micro size high definition color cameras with NVR's or off-site storage. Customization is essential because each "field of view" has different imaging characteristics - wide angle, long-range, low light, direct sun, high resolution, etc.
If you already have a security or fire alarm system installed in your home/business that is not currently under contract or is not being monitored, we would be happy to evaluate your system for monitoring at no charge to you. Our Technicians are able to re-program most existing systems to report to our Central Station without replacing your existing alarm control panel.
Did you know that over 80% of false alarms are the result of human error? As an Alarm Dealer, we assume responsibility for this problem and ask that you help us keep false alarms to a minimum. In addition, response times for real emergencies are affected if an officer is sent to a false alarm. We ask that you review the items below and join our effort to continue to reduce false alarms.

Editing my 1 star review to 5 stars. Once Mike heard about the situation & my 1 star review, he immediately returned our payment & released us from our contract. That shows personal INTEGRITY. I know he was hurt by the 1 star review & probably if he had received my messages, things might have gone differently. My new iPhone would not connect to Total Connect, ; I needed help. New-staff misunderstanding, I guess. Company does know their security systems & I always feel confident about installers coming into my home. In this day and age, integrity deserves 10 stars!

Can't wait until 1 yr contract is over. Got a new phone after using system for several months. Total Connect didn't work. Asked for help. Said they would make a service call. Asked about the charge for putting TC back on new phone? They didn't know if they would charge me or not. Woman on phone said I could still use the system without the cellphone remote and when MOTION detector sounded I could just go in and turn it off, ignoring the alarm. When asked about turning it off remotely for friend, servicemen etc, she said "just give them the number." Totally stupid! Still

Facts: contacted them to provide monitoring services at a home we recently purchased. Previous owners already had a complete system installed by a well known security company. Central (Mike) came out and said they would need to purchase a processor to make existing system compatible, it would take a few days, and cost $200. After that service would be $32 month, billed quarterly with a 1 year contract. We agreed. A few weeks later they returned and the part they ordered was broken out of the box. The installers called Mike to see what could be done. The solution now was to buy a different part
