I had a service emergency, frozen pipes to the motor, and the Islander service technician came right out on a frigid Saturday to assess and repair. The tech then came back first thing Monday to finish. The quick response by Islander, particularly Vince, turned a potential loss into a routine matter.

Used Islander to close our pool for the first time. We were fortunate to have Vince complete the project. Vince was fantastic. Closed the pool all by himself. He was friendly, courteous and very professional. Has a work ethic you don’t see too often anymore. Couldn’t be more pleased! We also had the pleasure of having Tyler come out earlier in the season to deal with a pump leak. Tyler was also fantastic. Overall, very pleased with the service provided by Islander Pools.

HUGE FAIL!! Please take your business elsewhere! It seems as though being rude is a prerequisite for working at Islander in Colonie. Kenny the " Leisure Consultant " was rude but, I gave him the benefit of the doubt. Then while trying to resolve a current ongoing issue I had unpleasant experience of dealing with the equally rude store manager Andrew.
All while trying to get a $300 refund check to cover the cost of a diver to repair the pool liner that has leaked since day one 7/16/21.
The diver told me that it was a perfectly round hole that in her opinion was not done by us.

I wanted to share that I really have enjoyed every sales and service experience I’ve had with Islander Pools. I have a hot tub, that came with my house purchase, bought at Islander Pools. Recently, my hot tub control panel stopped working. I called and spoke with Dave in the service department. He immediately knew what the problem was based on my description. He initially quoted a charge of $1200 for the 2 parts needed. Of course, I nearly fell off my chair and was crying when I gave my credit card info (not really—you can’t take it with you!). I thought I had to replace my pool Dave sent over a gentlemen named Jason to review some rust I had on my pool These guys are the best to deal with told me I had to make some repairs on opening the pool next year. Follow up to the salt pool system installation: a tech replaced the unit. It now works. Islander NEVER called or followed up in any way as the response to my first review stated.
I have used Islander for all my pool needs for over 15 years. New pool pump, winter safety cover, new liner, new filter, all my chemicals and pool needs. When they installed the salt system, they couldn’t get it right. It never produced chlorine. We have been doing business with Islander since Andrew first sold us a hot tub and then outdoor furniture for our screened porch back in the early 1990's. Then we replaced the hot tub and added an in-ground pool after we moved to a different house. (We still have the furniture-thank you Lloyd Flanders!) We recently had trouble with our pool heater and our oil & gas company who had been repairing it because of our all-inclusive service contract couldn't fix it. We are so happy with the service we receive at Islander!! We had our liner replaced in the spring, it went very smoothly and quickly. They did an excellent job!! Every time we go in for chemicals or water tests, everyone is super nice and very happy to help. It’s a great place and everyone there really knows their stuff!! Islander came through at the last minute for our above ground pool request. The installers - Professional Pool Installers - were just great. So professional and efficient. We are very confident in their work and know we will enjoy this pool for many years. My only recommendation is to have a quick pump instructional session with the homeowner.

Islander has the nicest people working for them, but the bottom line is they have visited my house 3 times this season, charing $265 each visit, and I still do not have a working pool. I am a new homeowner and first time pool owner, and the problem is they talk so fast and assume you understand more than you do. They work quickly and explain things once and fast. The first visit they didn't bring everything they needed because they didn't realize I had a sand filter (they didn't ask, and I was charged full opening price for the visit and them just dumping chlorine in the pool). I needed to find a filter for my Mira hot tub, but couldn't find ANY info on it or the company. Stumbled around the internet till I found a link to "hottubinsider". There was a phone number so I called thinking it was the manufacturer, and got Zachary! Wow, even though I'm in SC, he went out of his way to find me the correct part number and even suggested a vendor for my tub. Wish I were in Albany, I'd swing by and thank him in person! One of the treads on my aqua bot pool cleaner was not working. It would just turn in a tight circle. I brought it in to Islander pools as the recommended place to take for service. The people were friendly, they called me quickly with the diagnosis, told me approximately how much it would cost, charge me for the motor upfront, and then gave me an estimated time frame for fixing which they met. So far so good.
I live in Saratoga so it's not a short hike to Albany. They called me when it was ready I went and picked it up (40 min drive) and brought it home, put it in the pool and it did exactly

You may cite all the excuses you want. The math tells the tale Out of 14 total closures and openings done on my pool, 13 by another company with absolutely NO PROBLEMS WHATSOEVER, and 1 by your company, where upon opening, our deep end had been TOTALLY BLEACHED OUT on the entire floor and up about 1 1/2 ft. high. The calculation shows a 92.86% probability that the fault lies with you and 7.14% that it doesn't. Numbers Don't Lie!

Joe and his crew of repair staff did an outstanding job repairing my hot springs tub that I had lost all hopes of being able to repair. My spa was all of four years old and just past its warranty when the tub began leaking. After months of Ill fated attempts to repair it by two different dealerships I called Islander pools and spas who agreed to service my spa even though I was out of their service area. I had lost all hope and was at my wits end. They came out and diagnosed the problem immediately and within 3 weeks and only three service calls the problem was fixed and the tub is as good as

Awesome Pool supplies! The staff is always attentive and well informed. The prices are great I get everything I need for my hot tub and pool here. I even bought my hot tub here and when it initially had an issue they came out and repaired it no questions asked. Also when I do have an issue they coach me on the fix as I am pretty handy and never oversell! That's customer service!!

Terrible experience. I will never walk through the doors again. Sold empty promise of "always here to help, just give me a call" Joe is a great salesman, but not much of a professional businessman. We were suckered into a $4000 pool that we could've gotten at half of that price. But were convince that Joe was local and been in the business for 30 years. (Just a phone call away and his pools were "better than all competitors pools",) That pool, 6 months later still sits in our yard in a pile of bent metal.

I'm surprised to see some of the lower star ratings, but I've never dealt with the store for service issues. My review is based on products and overall shopping experience, and I have to say this is my favorite pool store in the area. Large selection, although some items are overpriced. Friendly service, and convenient location.
