This ambrosia beetle plants its fungal food along the tunnels it bores throughout it's host tree. Ken came and diagnosed my trees for $125. That was fair and as far as I can tell, he was correct. I would use them again for that if I were lost on why my trees were suffering.
The big problem is that the actual services are a bad value. He charged $725 on top of the diagnosis fee, which I agreed to ahead of time not realizing how little would be done. The worker watered 4 olive trees and a lemon tree a little bit with a combo fungicide, insecticide, fertilizer similar to anything you could buy yourself. Those 5 trees and one other were then sprayed for about a minute each on the leaves with a
