Gunter and Astrid arrived here from Bavaria Germany in the late 60's and founded Universal Imports in 1984. Gunter created an incredible business that still today stresses quality service and top line vehicles. They raised three children and helped raise seven grandchildren, and built this company from scratch.
Sadly, Gunter passed away in 2018. Astrid continues in her role of Owner and Vice President. Mark is the President and Sales Manager of Universal Imports. Mark has worked alongside his sister Andrea since the start. Mark has 30 years of experience in the automotive industry and is both a foreign and domestic car expert.
Mark is member of the Fairport Rotary Club and plays guitar in a band that gives all of their earning to charity and people in need. Mike is our Service Manager and has over 30 years of experience and is very knowledgeable in Audi and BMW service in addition to all imported and domestic vehicles. When Mike's at home he enjoys spending time with his family and reading a good book.

When "DickIde" said they could not see my daughters car that we bought for 2 weeks or more called Universal. Hunter took my call actually took my daughters car in took care of her right away. no one would do what Universal did. Go get your car taken care of by Universal. Hunter is the best. No matter how many times I calles he talked to me. So much respect for this company!!! 10 stars

The Hudson's have been with Universal Imports since 2004. I think we are on 15 cars bought and traded in with Mark. As well we have always taken our cars into Universal for service or repair. The service is of the highest quality. The integrity and transparency of buying and trading used vehicles is unparalleled. I would be remiss to not explain that we met Mark and Universal in 2004 when we were temporarily in Rochester but have dealt with Universal since 2007 out of St Louis MO. We have three sons, all of their "beater" cars in college were from Universal, (we still have one a 2009 Volvo wagon

Mike and the team at Universal Imports have gone above and beyond to assist me with both of my vehicles. When the local dealership for my Land Rover would not service me promptly because I did not purchase my Range Rover from them, Mike and his team were right there to help me. And my vehicle was serviced within a week! I totally trust Universal Imports.

I have been a customer of Universal Imports for almost 10 years and have never been disappointed with the service I have received. Universal is a highly ethical business, they never "up sell" you on service or parts. They are also more affordable and responsive than new car dealers and the service is top notch. Mike Cusack the Service Manager is a great person and is very knowledgeable of all makes and models of vehicles and explains thing in a way a "non car guy" like me can understand. Since 2012 when I started going to Universal Imports for servicing of my '99 Mercedes E320 wagon, I have only positive comments. I have always received courteous, professional treatment, and any work being performed has always produced satisfactory results.

They were professional and also really friendly. They explained clearly what work needed to be done, without pushing. My battery was ok, but they gave me a sensible time estimate for when it would likely need replacing (I replaced it right then, but didn't feel pressured to). They did great work, and prices are competitive. They have a fantastic waiting area with fast wi-fi, and one thing that I noticed is how well they all get along.

We were in town visiting family (drove cross-country) and Universal was recommended by neighbors and friends. Very friendly and helpful staff. They performed routine maintenance on our Audi Q7, but just before we were supposed to drive back to the west coast, got a huge set of windshield cracks. They fit us in last minute, and had the windshield replaced and sensor calibration done. When I picked up the car a bunch of warning lights were on, and unfortunately we didn't have time to get it resolved. When we got back to Oregon Universal still helped facilitate getting everything taken care of. Highly
