Doug Rees administered the U.S. Green Building Council's program for Washington's very first Gold-certified "LEED" Building, Island Wood (formerly Puget Sound Environmental Learning Center). He then reached Green Certification with the Built Green program by applying those same standards to this local remodel.

Our passion is building high-quality projects on budget. Doug Rees' master's degree in construction management and 30-year career in residential construction makes him uniquely qualified to do just that. Find out what makes us different and how we work. These are some of our favorite projects, both old and new. The architects featured here are listed in our Resource Library. There were many other fine craftsmen involved in the production of these projects as well. Give us a call if you want more information about the processes or teams involved in any of these projects.
Proven Track Record- First established in 1990, DLRC has over 25 years experience working with owners, architects, and other contractors on quality homes in the Seattle/Eastside area. What makes us different? Our decades of experience in custom building has given us insights on better ways to build, allowing us to deliver great quality at fair prices.
Interior renovations are our specialty! We've done many old-world charm restorations, interior remodels, plus tenant improvements for commercial properties and churches. Please also see our Featured Project - a stunning Seward Park interior renovation that has been featured in two publications! I was the project manager for this renovation.
We've built and worked on many new homes. One of our strengths is the ability to collaborate with clients and architects to achieve the best possible outcome, namely, the home they desire at a price they can afford. We are also well-versed in green building and sustainable solutions, so your home will have a reduced impact on the environment (and your wallet - when you pay the utility bills every month.)
It's always fun and rewarding to see our projects attract media attention! A project that our own Doug Rees helped manage a few years ago, was featured this spring in The Seattle Times' Pacific Northwest Magazine, King 5's Evening Magazine show, and MSN.com, as well as other media outlets.
