My son and daughter in law bought a coal stove here. They got the run around and we’re always trying to get them to actually get it in and running. First paying for it then begging to get it installed ..really…. Multiple trips and multiple weeks as they came with no supplies They were told to call and do their maintenance and warranty checks through them. So here we go again this year trying to get them to actually do the first year check and cleaning and was told they had to reschedule and it would be 2weeks before they could get them back in the schedule. Less than 24 hours before the time

I wish I could give these guys 10 stars! The owner Jim, and his son Hunter are really great guys.
We ordered a spa that was delayed due to COVID (like all other spas right now), but they kept us in the loop during the process.
When we got the spa, we were having issues getting it running right and they came out to our place 3 times to help (2 hour drive for them each way). In the end, they diagnosed the problem to our electrician wiring it up incorrectly. Sure enough, once that was fixed, the thing ran perfect.
Here, they spent over 12 hours working on something that wasn't even their responsibility

While planning the remodel of my lake house kitchen, I found the retro appliances by Northstar on line. The look was just what I was looking for but the only distributor I could find in the state of New York was Papa Bears in Marathon. I live in Rochester and my lake house is in the Ithaca area. After reading the previous Yelp reviews I was reluctant to consider buying the appliances from Papa Bears. However, I couldn't find any appliances I liked better. So I drove the two hours from Rochester. It was worth the trip. I found Jim to be honest, hardworking, and very accommodating. I

We have done business with Jim Reynolds at Papa Bears for years.
He carries quality products and he is very knowledgeable about the items he carries.
He consistently goes out of the way to help his customers.
We purchased a Trager Grill from him many years ago. It worked great but after several years the heat rod quit. By that time Jjm had stopped carrying The Trager line. We contacted him and he offered to repair it for us. We dropped the grill off and he delivered the grill back to our house after he repaired it!
He is responsive to minor questions about the operation and maintenance

It's been 9 months (and counting) since this store supposedly placed an order for me but still nothing. The owner, Reynolds, never seems to be in the store. Since then, I've heard a lot about this hedgehog. Although he acts nice, he's a cheat who would say anything to get you to buy. His follow-up is so poor his friends and family recommend going elsewhere. There are people who shouldn't be in business.
