McLaren Masonry
Ari began his concrete career at the age of 18 at a commercial concrete company specializing in large warehouse slabs, working through the night with fifty-man teams. At 21, Ari moved to Hawaii and began his training with a respected masonry company. For the next twelve years, he mastered residential and custom decorative concrete.

Boat Building School also honed his layout and carpentry skills. Ari worked well with architects, engineers, contractors, homeowners and employees while leading jobs. He married a local girl and started a family. In 2005, McLaren Masonry, Inc. was born. Talented employees have joined the team strengthening our goals of "Integrity, Creativity, and Experience" for every project.
Services
While some people love the look of faux moss rock driveways, others prefer the low maintenance of a solid surface. Synthetic turf between these custom pavers will be durable and beautiful. Don't be in a hurry when doing your driveway. Attaching your driveway to the street requires a permit. Without understanding the code requirements of this connection, many homeowners find themselves in violation of the ADA Act, and begin receiving fines.
New construction today is built with great margins for safety. With these margins come great expense. Engineers have their name on the line every time that stamps hits a set of plans. That liability lasts for years. Every time a natural disaster occurs, codes are updated, and stricter engineering is applied.
A well thought out drainage system can add decades of life to a retaining wall. Most drainage details that accompany blueprints today are boilerplate reproductions from a book. Oftentimes what is drawn simply won't work. The most common detail involves a four-inch diameter perforated pipe encased in in one foot of drain rock wrapped in a geo-tech fabric.
Concrete can be customized by adding color, borders, finishing techniques and decorative saw cuts. Examples of finishes are listed below. Concrete is finished, then stamped using large rubber mats to achieve a textured relief of the design. Combining stamped concrete with color adds dimension. If you are looking for a beautiful, simple, durable and textured concrete, you can't beat exposed aggregate.
You need a permit if you are constructing any of the following: fence wall, retaining wall, any wall over eighteen inches, any foundation for current or future building addition, any driveway or sidewalk that joins to the City & County road or walkway. If your wall has earth backfilled against it, then we would say yes.

McLaren did a fantastic job on our driveway. The crew was polite, professional, and kept to a tight schedule in spite of weather challenges.

Ari and his crew exceeded expectations. Ari was helpful and a step ahead from start to finish. He pointed out things I hadn’t thought of, and suggested simple modifications to improve design problems. Once the project began, he and his crew worked diligently and thoroughly... Our stamped concrete lanai, new driveway and steps to front door have been the talk of the neighborhood. We are extremely satisfied. I strongly recommend McLaren Masonry as they know what they’re doing and have an incredible work ethic. Call ahead though! They are in demand, but worth the wait.

We have used Ari and his team 3 times for concrete work at our home(s). The first time was over 10 years ago! He created a beautiful stamped and stained concrete pad for us at our first house in Kailua. The work was done professionally and efficiently, with minimal mess to us. Years later, when we needed a lanai in our new home, there was no question who we would call. We did a simple broom finish this time, but the results were also very nice. He and his men are hardworking, courteous, and professional and the end result was exactly what we wanted. Call McLaren Masonry if you want it done right

My wife and I used Yelp (of course) to find a masonry service, and came across VERY high reviews for McLaren Masonry.

It was on Sunday and didn't expect they'd be open, so I visited their website to see what services they offer and, as per their website, clicked on the "contact" portion and sent an email requesting an estimate. I immediately received a template email saying someone would call me the next business day; which would have been Monday.

Monday came and went, so I responded to the email in the afternoon. No response.

I called in the late afternoon and left a

I'm so glad McLaren Masonry did the concrete foundation for our home. It was an unusual design that involved digging trenches and pouring concrete grade beams that tied into micropiles. Despite the difficulties related to our site, Ari and his crew were cheerful, hardworking and easy to get along with.
Phase 2 of our project involved a long curving driveway and and even longer winding walkways up to and around the home. Ari worked hard to make the curves perfect. They are beautiful and 5 years later, there is virtually no cracking.

Removed existing wall and installed 77 foot long 6-foot CMU wall with several curves and did an excellent job preparing the site, pouring the footing, building the wall, and cleaning up the site afterwards. I expected far more damage than the practically none that they incurred.

I rate Ari and his crew as among the most competent and professional I have worked with.
