Coastal Colors Painting Company is a full service, family run, cabinet refinishing, custom interior & exterior painting service based in North County, San Diego owned by Michael & Julie Chilton. With years of experience, we handle all size interior & exterior residential painting projects from single rooms to entire estates & commercial buildings with a SPECIALIST service in quality cabinet refinishing.
We are a repeat client of Coastal Colors Painting Company. Our initial experience was with painting the exterior of our previous home in 4 different colors. They did a beautiful job. When we recently moved, we hired Coastal Colors to paint the entire indoors of our new home, using more than ten custom colors.
There are now plenty of high quality, eco-friendly, non toxic low or no VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) paints available today. These paints are certified by LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), Green Seal, Green Guard and other green agencies. We offer our clients low or no VOC high quality paints, giving you a healthier home in which to live.
Fully Insured for our Clients' Protection - We are fully bonded and carry liability and workers compensation insurance for our client's total protection. If one of our crew has an accident on your property (it's never happened so far!) you are fully covered by our insurances. Using unlicensed or uninsured Contractors saves you money on the bid price but can cost you far, far more in the long run.

While Michael is somewhat expensive, his work is worth every cent. We had lower bids, some were cyber/online bids. Michael came to our home surveyed the cabinets we wanted to change color and very promptly gave us a bid. He is polite, professional, experienced and he was on time and personally did 100% of the work himself. He is a true craftsman owing to his experience and training in England. He provided excellent references of very satisfied clients. Our home is our castle and we wanted the work to reflect genuine skill and dedication... which Michael provided. We very highly recommend Michael

Michael and his Son Jack just finished my Mom's house today. It looks BEAUTIFUL!!!! They were very meticulous, which is awesome because my Mom is too. Even when she went looking around to check on their work she couldn't find anything wrong. We are very satisfied with their work. Whenever we need painting done, they will be the people we call!!!

Mic and Jack did a fabulous job refinishing my wood kitchen island--it looks beautiful. They were on time, finished in three days as agreed, and the price was fair (per the written estimate). They were friendly, curious, and most importantly the craftsmanship was top quality. I certainly will have them back for more refinishing. I wholeheartedly recommend Coastal Colors.

We bought our house in March 2013. I immediately started doing work on it, doing a lot myself and hiring contractors for things above my head. I put in-ceiling speakers in every room. I finally got the last one in and was so glad. On my way out of the attic, after spending probably 10-12 hours total in it, my foot goes through the ceiling AT THE VERY END! Typical! My neighbor referred me to Mick and he quickly came over and assessed everything, gave me a reasonable price, and did the work within a few days. You can't tell I ever nearly fell through the ceiling. He also patched up/painted up

I've engaged Michael Chilton's company on several different jobs at my home over about 5 years. Both interior and exterior work. All done very professionally...clean, quiet (no radios), pleasant, and rarely any touch up required. Very highly recommended. Michael is a UK-trained master painter and really knows his stuff.

We came across Coastal Colors after searching for a local company to do some painting for us. We wanted to give our custom to one of the small companies in our area, rather than opting for the bigger names, and we're so pleased we did! We were treated as individuals, rather than just being a number, which is what we had experienced with the larger organizations.
Michael came round and talked us through the process, and he went into every details which was very helpful. When the work was being done, the painters were polite and courteous, and they also cleaned up really well at the end
