Our technicians can repair all of these issues and many more. If you think your old windows are beyond repair, we have most likely seen it before and they often can be saved. However, if they really are past the point of no return, then we can replicate the wood windows with historically accurate wood sashes, and keep the look of your old beautiful home consistent.
Window Restoration and Repair provides wood and steel window restoration and repair services for much of the southern California area. We will restore your older and historic windows to make them energy efficient and fully operational while maintaining the character of your building. When repair is not a possibility we offer custom built replicated windows to match the windows already in your home.
Our replacement windows will replicate the design, detail, wood, finish and hardware of the windows being matched. Every window restoration project is different, with its own specific needs and requirements. We are often referred by city inspectors and by preservation officers throughout southern California, and are listed on many preservation websites, such as the LA Conservancy, Long Beach and Pasadena Heritage, plus many more.

Services
We are often referred by city inspectors and by preservation officers throughout southern California, and are listed on many preservation websites, such as the LA Conservancy. Window restoration is our only business. We service the counties of Los Angeles, Orange, some of Riverside and some of San Bernadino as well.
Our customers are home owners, governmental and non-governmental preservation agencies, commercial building owners and tenants, HOA boards, apartment building owners and many more. These customers lean towards restoration in order to protect the original appearance of their home or building, and benefit from the fact that restoration is nearly always more cost effective than window replacement.
From bungalows to bunga-whoa-s, we can repair your wood double hungs, wood casements, steel casements, aluminum windows, vinyl windows, and most other types of windows. The Window Restoration and Repair crew can also integrate modern weather stripping into both old and new wood windows to avoid noise, drafts and dust from entering your home.
Wax and oil lubrication of channels and pulleys which should solve squeaking and sticking. Realignment of locks and stop beads. Stops are vertical strips of wood which control the bottom sash. They should be lined up to allow the sash to have just enough clearance for free movement, but not too much.
Grinding and sanding steel casement frames where the metal is touching metal (this will relieve tightness from the excess paint) to refit square windows into out-of-square opening to help reduce noise & cut down air drafts. Lube existing operators with Lithium grease if necessary, replace operators to similar operators for extra charge (ie., 'tear-drop', square, etc.).

It's probably been 5 years since I had the windows of my 1913 Craftsman bungalow restored by this company. It was not inexpensive, but the work was done quickly and with excellent quality. We open our windows in the evenings to cool our house and every time I touch a window, I think of how well spent the money was on this project.
The only downside, for the company, is that I expect this work will last another 100 years before it would need to be redone.

Scott is the BEST! The only better people at this specialized window restoration company/business are Brian, Ismael, Norm and of course, Bridgett. I am so pleased with my new windows. My home is a 1938 traditional in the heart of Los Cerritos/Bixby Knolls. The former owner had all of the locks removed to install a security system??? We never used the security system so we had it removed. I didn't realize finding someone to replace the old cranks and locks on steel casement windows would be difficult (almost impossible without Window Restoration and Repair). After nearly 20 years of searching we

Thank you Caesar and crew. I had a crew out to my 1922 California bungalow to repair the double hung windows today. All windows done in one day. Very professional, courteous crew. They explained exactly what was going to happen and left me with instructions for painting and further window care. They left the place cleaner than it was when they… arrived! I am so happy that I decided to have Window Restoration & Repair restore the windows rather than having them replaced. Caesar - you are right I could not hear the rain with the new weather stripping!

Scott will LITERALLY turn down your business to save you money if he feels your job is better suited for another company. He saved me thousands of dollars and recommended a better course of action for the replacement of my windows. He will even recommend other businesses and give you their contact info. On top of his stellar service, he is also a super nice guy who will give you his time and honest advice.

When we purchased our home in the Cal Heights Historic District in 1999, we thought our old windows might need replacement, but we were very concerned about affecting the character of our 1927 Spanish Colonial Revival bungalow. We'd never consider vinyl and quality replacements were going to run over $30,000. We saw an ad in the neighborhood's… newsletter for WR&R. We were relieved to find clear wood under the peeling paint, with only a few minor, repairable spots of rot in the lower sashes. Within one day all 22 of our windows were operating easily and efficiently, ready for prep and
