Founded in 1974 by Donald Powers and his son Wesley, the company (then called Colonial Traffic Service) provided seal coating and line painting services to the local community on a small scale. As the company grew, it expanded it's offerings to include tennis court resurfacing and asphalt repairs.
In 1984, the company was renamed Lancaster Asphalt Systems, Inc., and power sweeping and property maintenance were added to the company's list of services.Located in Lititz, Pennsylvania and serving Lancaster and surrounding counties, Lancaster Asphalt Systems, Inc. remains family-owned and operated.

As the pavement ages, oxidation takes place, causing the surface to become more porous and less flexible. Soon, cracks and pot holes appear, and before long, major repairs or an entirely new layer of asphalt may be required.
Lancaster Asphalt Systems maintains a fleet of truck-mounted vacuum sweepers and commercial broom sweepers. We are capable of clean-sweeping cinders, stones, and other debris from parking lots, roadways, and construction sites quickly and economically, day or night. Our nighttime sweeping crews provide service for many area shopping centers during off-peak hours and are available seven days a week.

For pavements that are badly damaged or deteriorated, Lancaster Asphalt Systems can provide several repair solutions to meet your needs. Full Depth Patching: Damaged asphalt is saw cut and removed or milled. The sub-base is then reinforced, and new asphalt is placed in the damaged area and compacted.
