At Bunyaad, we love to educate about the process of rug production and the artisans who craft our carpets. We are pleased to offer a large selection of hand-knotted, heirloom quality rugs made by fairly paid adults. We have been working with Bunyaad artisans in Pakistan since 1982 and we have a staff dedicated to educating customers about hand-knotted rugs and the fair trade difference-both in quality of life and quality of product.
We believe in preserving the rich cultural heritage of traditional rug-making in all its myriad forms and styles. Based in Lahore, Pakistan, our rug artisan group includes over 850 families from over 100 villages involved in hand-knotted rug production. Part of our mission is to provide vital and fair income to Pakistani rug artisans who otherwise would have very few sustainable outlets for their craft and artistry.

Services
Our rugs are exquisitely designed and crafted by an artisan group in Pakistan known as Bunyaad (formerly JAKCISS Oriental Rugs). The name meaning "foundation" in Urdu, Bunyaad works to create strong foundations in the villages of Pakistan by paying a fair wage to its artisan families. All rugs are made by fairly paid adults.
Here are some tips and tricks as you measure your room and think about what size carpet you need. When you shop for a Bunyaad rug, bring as many representations of your room and decor as you can: swatches of materials & upholstery, paint chips, pillows, etc. The more items that represent the room where your carpet will go, the easier the choice will be.
The Bunyaad Marketplace is now happily settled in our new location at 19 East Main Street in downtown Lititz, Pennsylvania (across from the Bulls Head Public House & Lititz Springs Inn & Spa). After sharing space with Ten Thousand Villages in Ephrata for the last 38 years, the Bunyaad Marketplace is now thrilled to find such a great new home in quaint downtown Lititz with an amazing collection of shops and cafes to enjoy.

They really have amazing one of a kind items. My favorite store of all time!! They have Beautiful rugs that look like they should be artwork on the wall. There are handmade rugs , so the price is more. But if your like me (very tight budget) don’t walk In and just look at the rugs, because if you do you’re gonna miss out on all the handcarved stones, and woven baskets and lots more. If you need a gift for the person who has everything, this is the store for you!! I will be definitely be going back to buy my Christmas gifts!! I drop a 300$ (On a variety of things) but I’m extremely happy with

Can't recommend Bunyaad enough! Amir, Jenny and the rest of the family who run this store are all helpful and delightful humans.
It took a few tries to find the exact rugs that we wanted, but they let us take several home to try them out in our space before we had to commit to purchasing them. They made what could have been a stressful, high-pressure purchase into a relaxed and fun experience.
Each time we came into the store, we learned more about the families and cultures that create beautiful Pakistani rugs. Supporting this store helps a local fairtrade business, but also provided a living
