Prior to establishing my tile installation business in 2003, I was a journeyman tile setter, ans marble mason working for local #3, (Bricklayers and Allied Craftsworkers). For nearly 8 years I spent working most of my time in San Francisco, California. My goal is to provide each and every customer with excellent service.

The owner serves more than just the Oakley area - he told me he serves the Bay Area and he gave us an estimate for our bathroom and kitchen which was very affordable and if you look at the website you'll see lots of the work he's done - both inside and outside! I highly recommend Chris the owner, because he does excellent work he's always punctual and he cleans up after himself.... always. I never have to remind him of anything. I just wish my husband was the same, LOL! As soon as we can we are going to be contacting Chris again to do some work on the new Jacuzzi tub we just ordered

This is my 2nd review of Chris and his **AMAZING** work. Please see my previous review dated 5/6/20 when Chris completed a remodel of my shower which turned out beautifully. Then, he came back to finish remodeling my 2 bathrooms, including bath + hallway floors + baseboards. Before and after pictures are attached to this review. As you can see from the 'before' pics, I had a pretty gross original 1970'ish bathroom situation going on. Well, Chris turned that mess into a complete masterpiece that is beyond what I could've hoped for. I LOVE IT!!! He was so patient waiting for me

I contacted Chris to give an estimate on doing my downstairs tile because he had good reviews and was a local. He was quick to reply and came out the same week to do measuring. When he left he said he would get back to use in a few days. The encounter was polite and normal.

My husband and I had Chris do the tile on the floor, and in the shower in our guest bathroom, and floor tile in our Master bath. I really cannot say enough good things about him and his work. He is very conscientious about his work, really amenable and he was patient working around my 3 kids who would try to ask him questions. I would not hesitate to recommend him or his work. My parents are even planning on calling him about their bathroom renovations. One thing, specifically, was a breath of fresh air, is that he when he spoke about the work, he spoke to me exactly like he spoke to my husband

Chris deserves 10 stars if they were available! He is reliable, trustworthy and an expert craftsman (and his pricing is competitive). Chris updated both of our bathrooms with new tile surrounds and a custom built tile shower pan in our master bath. He installed accent tile stripes and niches in the walls for shampoo, etc. Chris worked quickly and efficiently and always cleaned up at the end of each day. We are thrilled with the new look!

Everything that others have said is true. Chris just completely re-did both of my bathrooms, including creating a custom shower pan and tiling the walls and floors. He was diligent, communicative and very detail oriented. I'm pretty picky, and he checked with my about layout issues and other decisions throughout the process so that there was no question that I had the work done to my liking. He was helpful when it came to suggestions on what would look best (and was right on every time).

I contacted Chris (owner of Trans Bay) via email to schedule an appointment for the purpose of getting a quote for my bathroom and kitchen remodel... he was quick to reply and arrived on time the very next day. Contacted Chris and he can out to give us an estimate within two days. My wife mixed him up with a similar business name and they did not return our call. After several estimates and references we went with Trans Bay Tile and they did a wonderful job. They were very neat and the work was excellent. Word of mouth is the way to go with this small gem!

Chris has done several jobs for us, 2 bathrooms, kitchen floor, family room floor and fireplace. He is always on time, clean, efficient, the work is beautiful. I would recommend him for anyone, he has worked on 3 girlfriends home and my hair dressers home, they were very happy with his work. Our pictures show up on his website and they look really good.

I am not one that finds strangers and workers in my home a comfy or easy experience even when I have hired them. Chris is professional, punctual, tidy, fairly priced. Chris tiled up a fireplace for us. It was a project that was relatively straight forward and Chris handled it very nicely. He came over within 24 hours of being contacted to give us a bid. He completed the job in two days and left the house as clean as when he arrived. I would not hesitate to call him again for our next tile project. Nice Job!

Chris did a complete shower install for us. We took the bathroom down to the studs and Chris put up new hardi backer board and installed white subway tile around the tub and window. His price was unbeatable, and his work is beautiful. He is very professional, and cleans up each day after he is finished. To top it off, he is a very nice and pleasant man. I can't say enough about how pleased I am with his work. I would hire him again without hesitation.

Second time that I have used Chris. The first time was about 2 years ago in my current home. Have lived with his work for that same amount of time and I am still amazed at the workmanship. Just bought another large extreme fixer for my next home and didn't even bother to bid it out to others. I even slipped and told him that and his price was still excellent. His communication skills, promptness, quality, follow through, etc are second to none. I could go on and on but I'm still trying to complete the beast that I started and I am beat. I found Chris through the Yelp reviews. Nice to find the reviews so accurate. Chris returned my call quickly, made an appointment to fit my schedule, gave me a quote lower than two other tile setters, and completed the job on time. What else could you ask? He even removed and replaced the molding. He worked with me to use the tiles that I had purchased elsewhere. Highly recommended! Thanks!

One; answer the phone when a customer calls. Chris answered right away. Two; make an appointment committment on the spot. Chris offered to come the next day to do the job. I wasn't availble so we worked out a time for a couple days later that was convienient for me. Three; show up and show up on time. He was there at the appointed time on the dot. Four; come prepared to do the job. He had all the needed tools, materials and he allowed enough time to complete the job. No excuses. No running to the store for something. No problems!
