I have used Alexandria Lawn Service for an annual "Spring Clean Up" and other work for the past three years. They have responded quickly each time and scheduled the work promptly. The crew does a great job and is very efficient. Our yard always looks wonderful afterwards! Pam and the front office are very helpful and responsive.

UPDATE AGAIN - I had to fire them. Poor communication, not finishing work they started and agreed to, etc. Their weekly lawn crew was fantastic, but dealing with anyone/anything else was simply not worth my time.

This is the third season they've done my work, and like Dave J, I simply asked them to come do the spring cleanup this year. First, the person who took my call said she'd have someone get back with me, two days later I faxed a request for contact, three days after that I called again, and the woman who answered said she'd let me know via email when they could

Unfortunately I cannot review their services as they never followed up with an estimate. It's been over 2 weeks since I first called, and each follow up call I made to them I was promised they would show to give an estimate yet I'm still waiting. If this is the way they do estimates I have zero faith in them following up with the actual work.

We have a relatively small plot - corner townhouse in North Old Town - so even finding someone to come and now for us was a challenge! ALS was willing to make us a stop and at a reasonable price. We have used them for two spring/Summer's now and have been happy with their service and customer interactions. I almost always communicate with them through text which is easy and efficient. Great people - great service. Would recommend to anyone.

I contacted the company to obtain a quote for lawn care services at a relative's house. My cousin is unable to maintain the sizable yard properly and it is difficult for family to always help out. The first service I called left a bad impression, so my mindset prepared me for a potential run around. The owner, Pam, promptly returned my call and answered all of my questions. She explained her services and created a lawn care plan. Her polite and professional manner stuck with me, which quickly disarmed my apprehension. Used this lawn service last year. Each month they bill you by email. IDK if it's a problem with the provider they've selected or they've overcharged me, but I'm still getting those updates and still paying. Will be seeking another lawn service provider this year -- hopefully one with auto-bill-pay.
It's a shame, because they actually do a pretty nice job with my (crappy-looking) yard.

Last year, I was in need of some help with the Crape Myrtle in my front lawn. A friend recommended that I give ALS Services a call. I was initially hesitant, but I eventually called and I am SO glad I did!!! The front desk staff was so pleasant and took the time to listen to my needs. I honestly, did not know much about lawn care but I was so pleased with the care I recieved. Con: Terrible customer service, damage to lawn and would not change practices to prevent further damage or repair the areas, cut on weekends which can mess up outdoor guest visits.
I contracted ALS back in 2004-2005 when I had surgery and could not mow the lawn for a couple of months. I was happy to have someone I could count on to regularly mow the lawn and gathering the leaves in the fall. As time went on, however, I started noticing they would come right after a rain and would leaving small tire marks in the lawn. No big issue

I had an initial disappointment with the front desk staff but Pam reached out to me and went out of her way to make up for it. I felt they were very professional in getting me an estimate and understanding what i needed.
I haven't used them yet since my project is big and will require a large budget but I am looking into hiring them as soon as I am ready to get things done.

This company is horrible. They dont return phone calls, they lied and charged me more than the actual time they were at my house. They have a phone system that is so broken you cant even hear the person on the other line as there's just an echo of your own voice..so communicating even on the phone is tough.
I wouldn't use this company ever again as they are dont know their left hand from their right

Pam is one of the most customer-focused individuals I have *ever* met. She has impeccable attention to detail, and she gets things done *quickly*. We had inquired with (no joke) four separate landscaping companies to get some yard maintenance done at our house. I think b/c it was the summer / high season, the larger lawn companies felt they didn't even need to respond! Alexandria Lawn Service was the only company that treated my *smaller* lawn job as if it were just as important as the huge-$$ ones. She also came through with *incredible* turnaround time on a painting and carpeting emergency

Hired them to trim my shrubs and prune my hedges. The definition of professionalism! Their estimator was at my doorstep the very next day after I had called. Seriously, I must have gotten at least a dozen other quotes from their competitors and their's was the best. Friendly staff with timely professional service that doesn't cut any corners (no pun intended). ALS Services, Inc cannot be beat!

I have been a loyal customer of Alexandria Lawn Service for almost 15 years. They are the best in every way. They offer reasonable prices, reliable service, professional staff with a true "can do" attitude, and outstanding work. Just tell them what you need and it will be done. I trust them so much that I no longer even ask for estimates, knowing that the work will be done professionally and at a fair price. I simply would not consider using any other lawn service. They also do outstanding landscaping and any other outdoor service you might need. Five stars!

This company is wonderful. Pam the owner is one of the finest customer service oriented business owners I have ever met, they completed the job today and it's 530 on a Friday night and Pam herself is here to oversee the job! From the beginning she followed through in a friendly and engaging, professional manner. If I were you, I'd go with this company and none other!!!

The one star is for the Office staff mainly. The actual people who handle the lawns do a very nice job. However, you will be ignored for weeks when leaving a message or sending an email and even when you have credit cards on file, you will be sent late notices. Tell me, how is one late on a bill that you HAVE AUTOPAY set up for... not quite sure who runs this office but they need to be fired immediately and then they would have a shot at being an all-around top notch company. I feel really really bad for the workers in this company because its not fair that they lose the work that the office staff
