Eugene H. Sakai is the co-founder and CEO of Studio S Squared Architecture, Inc. A Bay Area native and lifelong resident, he has a deep love of the cultural and architectural diversity unique to this area. As the son of a Japanese gardener and grandson of a walnut farmer, Eugene's appreciation for the relationship between man and nature was formed at an early age, and greatly influenced his architectural philosophy.

Studio S Squared provided service that was prompt, courteous, professional, accommodating, and reasonably priced. We now enjoy a beautiful, open, naturally lit, energy-efficient house that fits our lifestyle perfectly and is a continuous source of pride and pleasure. The use of 3D modeling was extremely helpful in planning and designing the rooms and floor plan.

We hired Eugene Sakai of Studio S Squared to help us with a small addition to our 1300 square foot 1950s bungalow in down town San Jose. We loved the existing structure but also love modern architecture. When we met with Eugene we quickly knew that he "got" us and would be the right person for our project. What Eugene gave us was a complete surprise that totally met and exceeded our expectations. We could not be more thrilled with the results. He and his team are so talented, kind and responsive, an absolute joy to work with. I would hire them again in a heartbeat.

We are currently engaged in a project with Eugene and the team at Studio S Squared. We interviewed 4 architects and selected Studio S Squared based on photos of their previous work (which we are big fans of), their extensive list of references, their predictable flat fee structure, the comprehensive bid package they prepare to help you select a GC, and their enthusiasm for our project. We live in Burlingame and they also have another project going on in town right now, so that was also appealing to us given Eugene's familiarity with our local planning department and their processes.

We didn't know Eugene when we hired him to draw the plans for our additional room to the house in Santa Clara. We were pleasant surprised of his correctness and punctuality in our initial conversations. For us this was a big project- 320 sqf. He considered this a small project, but he did a very professional work no matter how big was the project. He did it with full respect and understanding of our needs as clients. He offered us a very interesting decision about making the ceiling a little higher by using trusses. We really loved it. He also helped us in the process of picking up the contractor
