Sonitrol Security of Delaware Valley was founded in May of 1999 by Karl Ottosen and Joe Allen. Karl has been the owner of Sonitrol of Central New Jersey since 1985. Joe has been in the security industry since 1974 and started as a technician at Sonitrol in Philadelphia in 1980 and then moved into sales and sales management.
The company known today for detecting burglars had its roots in pest control of a different sort in the late 1950s. Robert Baxter, of Anderson, Indiana, installed microphones within the walls of a building to listen for termites and pinpoint their location. Baxter invented other sound-related devices, too.

WORSE EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!!!!! Called them to get a tech out to analyse current system to suggest a solution. What I got instead was a salesperson who gave me a new system because he thought my system that WORKED was old but did not solve my issue!. The installers?? They were even worse took TWO DAYS that was not scheduled or told to me and were as unprofessional as a ten cent worker. Overall experience was GODAWFUL...
