John is an Atlanta native, growing up in the Virginia-Highlands area. He's been doing construction in Atlanta since 1976. He worked for Mews Development learning all phases of construction and rising from hired hand to foreman. In 1988 John left Mews Development and with a partner, established TABCO Contracting.

John Tidwell & Sons did a wonderful job finishing my basement. John was very knowledgeable and made my 800 square foot unfinished basement an excellent addition to the house. They did everything - floors, ceilings, soffits, walls, sheetrock, framing, insulation, electrical, and painting. They even stained the wood doors I picked out. I couldn’t be happier with the finished product. They also were finished relatively quickly. They started the project when they said they would and worked consistently on it until it was done. You seriously can’t go wrong with these guys! This was the best picture

We had John and his sons do a complete makeover of our master bathroom. To say the outcome was spectacular is an understatement . From day 1 they were here everyday on time and took those extra steps to keep everything as tidy and clean as possible. John and his Sons did a FANTASTIC job totally remodeling our entire 1600 sq ft daylight basement including a new kitchen in Lawrenceville, GA. From bringing in a huge dumpster and demolishing the old kitchen to helping me design what I wanted for our new downstairs kitchen including a beautiful granite bar to ripping out the old carpet, installing luxury vinyl floors, removing and installing gorgeous new drop ceilings to helping me pick paint colors and providing his team of selected plumbers, electricians and painters. I consider myself fortunate to have found John and his sons. They completely renovated our condo, turning our two bathrooms into handicapped. Their workmanship is excellent. When they give you a date to start a job they show up on time and stay until the job is complete. They are honest and extremely helpful for those of us who are not handy. I wish I had more jobs for them to do. I would recommend them in a minute.

Called John to see if he would start building out my unfinished basement starting with a home office. John, Sam, Jim and all those on the team did a top notch job, arrived quickly and did everything the right way. I asked for a couple added features, soundproofing and a vent, and they gladly adjusted at a fair price. Great folks all the way! I plan to ask them back to do much more.
