I rely on the arborist (Nick Thiel) in the maintenance of a large mesquite tree in my side yard and have done for a number of years. The crews that trim the tree that overhangs the house take care when dropping or lowering heavy pieces so as not to cause damage. They do a good clean up afterwards as well. I have not had any storm damage since I began service and am confident that things are in the best shape possible.

Second time we've used Design Tree Maintenance. Our son has used them as well. They removed a large pine in backyard a couple years ago and they did such a great job then, so we used them again. Ben, one of their Arborists, had come out couple weeks ago and went through the yard listening to our concerns and what we needed done. His recommendations were great.
Two remaining Pines were treated by a technician, he explained to us how to use the treatment each month that he left with us, after treating the tree and roots.

I love these guys! They trimmed my cherished canary palm and did an amazing job as you can see by the before and after photos. Plus they performed a precision tree takedown of another tree in my front yard that got destroyed by a microburst in August. I will always call these guys for all my tree needs and suggest you do too!

I hesitate to leave a bad review, especially since it has been nearly four months since Design Tree performed a service on my tree. The first issue was a nearly illegible invoice because the print was so small. I take full responsibility for agreeing to pay $1350 to prune a Desert Willow Tree that was damaged during a storm, lightly prune two other trees in our backyard, and diagnose and treat a very large grapefruit. Admittedly I did not get other estimates; instead I relied on a recommendation from a neighbor.

The workers did a nice job with trimming our palms - very neat. However the arborists are very unorganized. Don't return calls or texts, then when I finally spoke with him - he scheduled the wrong day (when I knew I was out of town). I spoke with them on the phone while they were there trimming. I told them I would not pay until I saw the results when I got home late that evening. The Admin office guaranteed me they would not run my card until I called the following morning to give authorization. Well they didn't wait - they ran it anyway. I don't recommend this company due

It's been a few years since my last review. Since then I have been using DTM every year (mostly twice a year, spring and fall) for yard cleanup, tree fertilization, even odds and ends like landscape light installation, gravel replacement and fixing existing pavers that got removed due to a sewer project and not placed back quite right by a plumber.
I continue to be impressed with the quality of this company's work and how easy it is to do business with them. The team that comes out to do the work is courteous and let me know they are here and also when they are leaving. Ben keeps

Usually about once a year I call up Ben and have him come out and assess our yard. In the last year and a half we've had them rip out a non-working irrigation system and replace it with a nice new one, we had them remove a dead tree and replace it with a 3 ft. cactus, take out 3 dead bushes, and recently we had them add gravel to our front yard and dramatically improve our rip rap dry bed (before & after pictures attached). We also have them trim our tall trees that our regular landscapers won't touch. I've only had good experiences with them and I'll keep using them

The job was large in clear cutting a large number off shoot-based trees on our Church property that were causing a traffic hazard on a busy street and also restricting views of our church for guests. On all measurements of cost, responsiveness and quality, the result was excellent. The first photo shows the start of the project and associated resources. The second picture reveals the results which conformed to our request.

I hired them for yard cleanup. Weed spray and pull and to trim 3 palm trees and cut down a dead grapefruit tree. 2 weeks later They show up at my door with their worker blowing a cigarette in my face... Then everything went to hell!
1. They cut down the dead tree and dragged the pieces across my yard instead of bringing trash bins to move the branches leaving little branches all over my yard that a leaf blower can't move.
2. They never sprayed and pulled weeds yet and charged me.
3. They trashed and broke my landscape lights and bushes by dragging debris over them.
4. They butchered

Hi, I have used Design Tree Maintenance for several years - Nick (Arborist) came out for the quote; and was fair. Told me a few of my trees did not need done/looked good, etc. They did 10 trees well very much to my satisfaction. Very happy - they look great. They understood that one of the Mesquite trees was a privacy barrier, and trimmed it - but not too much to not have it as a block from my neighbor's two story to my one story home. They cleaned up GREAT. Blew out the yard (It looks better than before they came.) Would highly recommend. I tried to get others to quote/return Yelp

Just had Design Tree out again and still can't say enough about this company. This time Melvin's crew came out and trimmed 2 full sized trees, remuchled two backyard trees and adjusted tension poles, and removed a dead tree & replaced it with a very beautiful, full, & tall thornless mesquite. Melvin & his crew were very professional, courteous, & careful while on my property.

They were supposed to trim my palm tree an pyrocantha bush. They did a good job trimming the palm tree. I even left a note on the gate as to how much I wanted the pyrocantha bus trimmed. When I came home they had cut the pyrocantha bush back much farther than I had said over the phone and said in the note. They also trimmed my bogenvia bushes way back and I did not even ask for those to be trimmed

I went with these guys after a neighbor suggested them to me after getting some basic yard work done.
I have a big tree in a small yard that needs to be removed. They ultimately we unable to help with the tree since it was a very involved job but they did some good work on the shrubs they planted out front.
They do some pretty good work.

Ben the salesman (seemed to be a nice guy) came out and gave me a quote to treat (fertilize) all the soil around all my trees, shrubs and plants. Then I had them remove a palm that was out growing the space and then had 2 new palms planted.
The crew (all nice guys) did a decent job however they chipped up my pool deck when removing the overgrown palm and re planted the new palm 8 inches off center.
They left a years worth of different fertilizers for my different plants. When I searched for the company website for the product the website doesn't exist.
Over all this was very expensive

I received a recommendation from Home Advisor from this place to come and trim an orange tree in the back yard. I made an appointment on Wednesday and they never showed nor called to cancel. I still have yet to hear from them. So if anyone is looking to have any type of work done by them I would say - buyer beware!!!
