We believe in hiring arborists for the same reason you don't hire a handyman to perform heart surgery; some things require a professional. If you need new mulch installed, topsoil applied, decorative stone applied or a lawn renovated and installed just ask.
Our customer in Rocky Hill had not trimmed his hemlock hedge in a couple of years and it had gotten rather out of control to the point where the car could barely get down the driveway. Al LaPila is a miracle worker! Last month, I contacted him about my beloved pink dogwood, which appeared to be dying. It had flowered only sparsely, and on one whole side of the 18 year old, what leaves there were were small, curled, deformed, and had brown spots. Al returned my call quickly, and came out the next day. He diagnosed the problem as a fungal disease, spray treated it, and fed it. He also observed that the soil around it was dry, and that it had been planted too deeply and mulched too heavily in the past. He recommended removing 4” of soil, and watering it conscientiously. I contacted LaPila Arborists when a recent storm brought down a large tree from the neighboring property onto our yard and fractured another tree so the top branch was hanging dangerously above. Though I took quite a few weeks to followup with Al after receiving a quote (waiting for insurance claims), Al responded immediately and was able to schedule the tree removal within the week. The night before the appointment, I also decided to change plans with Al and add an additional tree with a few stump removals. Contacted LaPila Arborists for a quote on a tree resting on my house, I spoke with the owner Al and he promptly came out and gave me an estimate. His quote was excellent compared to competitors and his work was top notch. Al returned my phone call in less than an hour and was at the house to review our service needs within 24 hours.....can't ask for more than that.....superb communication with a potential customer. We have,'t begun work yet however, if that move forward as professionally as the call back and assessment then we'll be more than satisfied. I contacted LaPila Arborists and was quickly answered by Al, the owner. He made an appointment to come out same day to take a look at my ~50 foot dying tree and give me an estimate. He exactly on time and was extremely friendly and professional. I ended up scheduling the job (dropping the dead/dying tree and cutting it up into 6 foot sections for me so I could process myself into firewood). The arrived first thing in the morning with the heavy equipment necessary to prep the tree and safely drop it. They completed the job expediently and were in and out within about an hour and a half. I have used Lapila Arborists to maintain a huge Silver Maple in my back yard for years now. It is in a very difficult part of my yard whereby if anything ever happened and it fell, it could be the end of my house. If you are looking for a reliable, professional and trustworthy tree removal service, LaPila Arborists are the choice. I recently had a dead tree removed from my front yard as it was beginning to split and fall towards my home. I am extremely glad that I decided to contact LaPila Arborists for this job. I have used LaPila for several years now, primarily to mow my lawn and do fall clean up. I have found the company to be dependable, more than competent, and reasonably priced. I have also used them to cut down several trees, some of which were huge, and they did an outstanding job, ensuring all was cleaned up and looking good as new. I would highly recommend this company.

We moved to a property filled with overgrown trees, bushes and shrubs. LaPila Arborists and Design was the perfect solution to this growing problem. Alex was efficient, professional and very skilled when it came to removing an overgrown tree and trimming our shrubs and bushes. The lawn and garden look so much better now that LaPila Arborists and Design have cleaned it up. We will definitely be calling them for a spring cleaning and other work in the near future.
