Granite is still the number one selling product for countertops that we sell and provide our customers in the market that we service today. There are a wide variety of colors to choose from in granite, literally hundreds. Some granites have an even or a "salt and pepper" pattern, but some have some of the most beautiful movement throughout the stone.
Quartz or Engineered stone is a man made stone, that is made with natural quartz and resins. This product is very similar to granite in its hardness, but unlike granite it never needs to be sealed because it is a non-porous material. Since Quartz doesn't need to be sealed at all during its lifetime, it is a great product to use in your home.
Soapstone is a non-porous, natural stone that can be used for kitchen countertops. It is not nearly as hard as granite, but it makes a great top that won't crack or stain. If you spill something on the top of the soapstone, you can just wipe it off or use a cleaner or soap and water to clean it. It will not stain because it is non-porous.
Marble is a very beautiful stone that can be used as a countertop, Marble tends to have lots of veining and movement and it appeals to a certain type of customer more than others. Marble can be used as a kitchen countertop, but we don't recommend it because it scratches so easily and it can be damaged by acidic foods.
How long does this process take from start to finish? Due to the variations in the rooms where we work, all jobs are unique. One of the biggest impacts on the work schedule is the availability of your chosen material. Once your material is available, we can estimate the number of working days to complete your project.

It would not be possible to say enough nice things about this company or the people that work there. They did an amazing job and I highly recommend them. Before getting a quote from this company, get a quote from Lowes Hardware in Elkin. Lowes will give you a much better price, with installation and sink included.
Lowes contracts to M&M Granite. If you get a quote from M & M first, they will refuse to take the order from Lowes and then you will be forced to pay them a much higher price or you will have to go with another granite company.
We hope Lowes will correct this problem soon
