I've had quite a few pieces built from them. As a designer, it's great to have a place to go to get your designs made from a smart team. So far, 2 sofas, 3 sectionals, a bed & a dining table. So much easier than shopping around town. Their lead times are very reasonable too. Most of my projects are in LA, so it's pretty cool to keep this as a local resource.

Some years back, F+F built a remarkable custom table for our alcove. With a divine heaviness that suggested an likely marriage of Stickley and Bauhaus, its painted black top and truss legs turned the corner at 135 degrees. We returned this year for a companion desk, and this time I asked for a bank of drawers, that would hang from beneath the top with no side support. By 2021, however, the shop had become very busy and it took a couple of months to complete. It was worth the wait. We have a vintage midcentury leather sofa and a chair that were in bad shape. The sofa cushion was so worn down that sitting on the rug on the floor was more comfortable. As for the chair, a bug must have eaten through the wood that holds the straps in place to support the cushion. The bands kept slipping out so the seat cushion would fall out.
I checked with several different furniture repair shops and couldn't find anyone who could do the job for a decent price. A lot of vendors see midcentury pieces and immediately hike up the price.

I had had a unique loft-closet project in mind for a while and must have contacted close to a dozen furniture builders before I found Form & Function - the only builder that confidently said they could build it. It took a while, but I wound up with a very fine piece of furniture that is exactly what I wanted. Terrific. Roger stayed in contact throughout the process. Roger and his crew do exceptional work. They restored our Alfred Kill "Bird" chair after the original leather disintegrated after use. Roger was very helpful and patient as we thumbed through all his samples of leather and was communicative and accomodating throughout the whole process as we had a change order midway. We found our go-to people when it comes to furniture repair and fabrication. Could not be happier with my dining room chairs and two sofas. Roger was always quick to answer any questions and guided me in the selection of a Crypton super fabric to meet the fabric needs for all my rescue dogs. The guys at Form + Function really came through. Super courteous, knowledgeable and responsive. I needed a frame for my glass table to baby-proof it and they engineered one for me that goes perfectly with the decorations of the house. I also asked they build a custom platform for my industrial sewing machine and they took care of it very promptly. I was pleasantly surprised and will definitely hire them again for any construction or furniture needs I may have. I highly recommend them.

I was so impressed by this business. We have a 15 year old couch that we had re-stuffed. First of all, they were incredibly responsive, especially around the holidays. I always had responses back the same day, even multiple times a day. I found Roger to be really knowledgeable, friendly and very fair with pricing. However, the quality of the work is the best part. Absolutely top notch!!! He made it so easy --- came and picked up all of our couch cushions and brought them back several days before expected. So appreciative!! If I could give more stars, I would! I was looking into having three chairs reupholstered and after reading great reviews about Form and Function I decided to call them and had the pleasure of speaking with Roger. I'm very glad that I chose Form and Function to do the work. Two of the chairs were reupholstered in turquoise leather and they look awesome and make a real statement in my home. I had the pleasure of working with Roger on two projects -- and will definitely be back for more! I had a telephone bench reupholstered. Roger's selection of durable, easy care and beautiful fabric made the decision easy. The precision of the work and comfort of the seat are impeccable. I knew they weren't a boat upholstery company, but I wanted something plush and high end for my power boat. I called around to many upholstery places but based on the reviews and pictures of their work I only wanted to work with them.
I had an idea of what I wanted, sketched it on paper and picked out the fabric and Roger and his team literally did exactly what was in my head.

I bought a really nice 1 of a kind sofa from someone online 13 years ago. But after a decade of wear and tear it needed some TLC. Roger and his staff were great! The work was done on schedule and it looks amazing. I was able to keep my 1 of a kind sofa instead of replacing it with something with no character.
If you want quality work done at a reasonable price-point, this is the place!

We had the pleasure of working with Roger on fabrication of some custom dining bench I designed for a restaurant project. Roger was patient, resourceful, and very careful to make sure that every piece was built exactly to my specifications. When we looked at reengineering the piece to make it more sturdy for commercial use, he came with great ideas, and really enhanced the structural design of the piece. I had 2 mid-century chairs reupholstered here and they are BEAUTIFUL. They have a great in-house selection of fabrics to chose from. They were also able to stain / paint the legs of the chairs. The workmanship is fantastic! Roger was very helpful and kept me updated on everything. Highly recommend!!!!!!

Roger was able to upholster some down-feather couch cushions I had and insert a down-alternative that feels like the same thing. He did a rush order for me, because I needed the cushions soon, and in about a week I picked them up and they looked brand new!
The store front does not look like a normal store, and you enter around the back, but the organization of the business and Roger's excellent communication are that of a large business.
If I need more upholstery, I will definitely contact Roger again.

My ottoman was so incredibly tired looking that I thought that there was no hope, but I love a good comeback! Enter Form + Function and they saved my ottoman. I'd been looking for someone to build a custom dining bench for me for quite some time, and had hit nothing but roadblocks. I originally went to Sofa Interiors because of their numerous Yelp reviews, but it wasn't going well (see my review there) so I decided to start my search over. All I wanted was a large kitchen prep table with two shelves underneath, one with enough clearance for a microwave. I spent hours searching the internet with no luck. I decided to consider going custom, but I was skeptical because I never have and I did not want to spend an arm and a leg.
I contacted Roger at F+F about my request, and my budget. I wish I had started with him - it was so easy! After a few weeks I had exactly what I wanted at a very reasonable price, and the table is beautiful. It's looks like I spent 3x as much as I did. I'd highly recommend spending your money
