What's the correct way to thread your ORD punch? Follow these simple directions: 1. Thread punch first through the circle hole then to the pointed hole. 2. Pull yarn through the channel leaving a 1 tail out the pointed tip of punch. 3. Pull the yarn through the ends until the yarn is inside the entire channel.
1. Lay the design side up on your lap or on a flat surface and work across the width of the rug and always start in the center of the backing. When placing the backing on your lap put the backing on the right knee and hold right hand on knee in the writing position. 2. Hold the backing firmly with the left hand one half inch from working area.
1. Prior to cleaning, shearing and defining it is a best if you have a section the size of your palm before starting these steps. This is what will create a velvet feel to your rug. Be patient and take your time. 2. Using the point of the knitting needle working horizontally, slide the point between the two rows making sure all the loops are cut.
Whip Stitch the Long Sides 1. Thread your darning needle with a piece of the yarn that is the last color punched into the rug. 2. Always double your yarn for better coverage. Going into the first or second hole begin a whip stitch along the edge. 3. Continue until you get to the end. If you do not want fringe the short ends continue the whip stitch all the way around.
Crochet the Short Sides 1. Starting on one end push the crochet hook through the second or third hole in the corner pulling the double yarn through the hole. 2. Leaving a tail the length of your fringe, pull the end of yarn through to that length. Using the other piece of yarn grab a section of it and do 3 single crochets that will resemble a chain.
