Services
We have been recognized for our high-quality custom work in national publications such as Traditional Homes, Period Homes and Southern Accents magazines, and locally in the Washington Post, Bethesda Magazine, Home and Design, The Washingtonian, Gazette Journal newspapers, and Chesapeake Home Magazine.
We have built numerous homes throughout the Washington Region and Maryland's Eastern Shore. Over 40 plus years we have never built the same house twice. Our philosophy is to build houses that are designed in authentic architectural styles including reproductions of historic houses, adaptations of period and geographic styles, European classics and homes in the contemporary vernacular.
We are committed to sustainable "green" building. In 2011, we collaborated with Peabody Architects to build the first "Passive House" in the Washington Metropolitan Area and the 22nd in the United States. Several of our recent homes have featured a high efficiency exterior layer called EIFS (Exterior Insulation and Finish System).
We have built or remodeled a number of unusual and challenging structures or spaces including: an historic log cabin; moving and reconstructing a 19th century barn; indoor basketball/sports courts; indoor swimming pools; wine cellars; beamed and paneled home office space and construction of several infill modular homes.
