Owner Doug Martes has run a bathtub & tile refinishing company for more than 21 years, and saw the need for an affordable answer to bathroom remodel for accessibility.
The EZ-Step tub to shower conversion is an economical alternative to complete remodel or replacement of existing bathing units. In one day, our skilled crew will measure a custom cut according to your specific needs, then cut away and remove a section of your existing bathtub. We will fabricate a piece to fit into the cut out space to create an EZ-Step shower.
We offer a wide array of products and styles to choose from when replacing your existing bath or shower with new and attractive fully functional units. Replacement units are four or five piece modular units which fit through even the narrowest of doorways. Access Bath is a proud dealer of Best Bath Systems products manufactured exclusively in the United States and backed by an exclusive 30 year warranty.
Access Bath is a proud dealer of the Best Bath Escape and Escape Plus walk in bathtubs. Comfort, not age or disability is the issue. I was recommended to Martes Refinishing from another company in Huntington Beach. I called the number several times and left a message but nobody picks up nor returns my call. I even called the 866 number from accessbath website but that number was no longer in service. Such a shame since this company came highly recommended and all the stellar reviews. All the recent reviews are from year 2020. Maybe they are no longer in business??

Doug is the consummate professional, showed up on time, gave an honest estimate, then delivered 100% plus. I am so happy with my tub finish, looks brand new. He installed a grab bar, which is great. He did the job quickly, following all Covid protocols, using a ventilation system he designed.
I felt very comfortable with him in my home, he wore a mask the entire time.

Doug refinished my 70s Santa Monica bathtub a year ago and it still looks like new! He really knows what he's doing, cares about the quality of his work, and pays close attention to detail. He and his wife run the business and both are very professional--a true pleasure to deal with. I can't recommend him highly enough!

I found Martes Refinishing on Yelp and based on the reviews and the great pics I called him right away. Doug the owner was very responsive and got back to me right away which I really liked. We made an appointment and he came by to meticulously make sure my tub was perfect. He even came back the second day to put the shower doors back on and to make sure the job was completed professionally. I had attempted to do this a while back and I was so surprised at the companies that wouldn't do a re-glaze. There are so many out there uncertain on how to do this so don't waste your time looking

Our condo property had an old tub that I thought needed to be refinished, so I contacted Martes Refinishing. I immediately got a call back from Doug and we setup a date-time for him to come evaluate the tub and provide me with an estimate. Much to our surprise Doug enlightened me that tub was in great condition, did not need to be refinished and just needed to be cleaned up. He even provided me with detailed instructions

I have a 6 month old baby that was getting too big to bathe in the sink. Our bath tub was old, and not functional for bathing. I thought the tub needed to be replaced. I was referred to Doug and was shocked at what he could do. He removed the doors as we wanted, refinished the tub to look and feel brand new, and installed a new drain cover. We could not be happier and would refer him to anyone looking for an upgrade to their bathroom for a reasonable price.

We couldn't find a new sink that happily fit the space of our 1928 bathroom, so decided to take a chance on having the old one reglazed. We heard stories saying that it will look awful. Well, they evidently never saw the work of Doug Martes. Our sink is now beautiful. Looks brand new. He takes pride in his work and it shows. Friendly, helpful and easy to work with. Highly recommend.

Doug Martes did an outstanding job on our old tub that had been glazed 30 years ago and was in horrible condition. I wanted to keep it because it's deep and you just can't beat a cast iron tub for holding the heat of the bath water. The sink was pretty much in the same condition, with some rust areas that could've been irreparable, but Doug did it and it looks new. Great guy and a joy to have around!

Doug did a wonderful job on the tub and shower in our rental house, which were badly in need of a facelift. We also had him do the bathtub in our own home. Everything now looks like new! Doug is friendly, professional, prompt and does great quality work. I would recommend him to anyone looking to have this type of work done.

Doug Martes did an outstanding job with my mid century tub and bathroom sink reglaze. He is thorough and thoughtful and such a great personable guy! He arrived on time and finished the job on schedule and in point price wise. My 65 year old bathroom looks brand new. I highly recommend Martes Refinihsing!

Martes Refinishing has done quite a few jobs for my family over the years. However, the refinishing of my two bathroom required fixing a year later and I was charged for it. He does great work, but get in writing all work and warranties so that you don't get an unexpected bill after a verbal agreement.

Here is the thing, I got my bath refinished about 6 years ago by Martes Refinishing. They gave me a 7 year warranty on their work as long as I followed the guidelines they laid out. It is 6 years later and my tub began to peel, I called, they came out right away and finished the tub again. This is an excellent company that does excellent work and has EXCELLENT customer service. I won't hesitate to recommend Martes to friends, family or anyone who is looking for a good refinisher and I will definitely use them again!

My husband and I bought our first house last year--a 1964 ranch-style home. The previous owner never made updates to the house. The hall bathroom had the original pink tub. We couldn't stand the color and we always covered it with a shower curtain.
We received bids for a complete remodel of the tub and tile from a few contractors. The bids ranged between $8,000 and $10,000--money we didn't want to commit to right now. So instead, we investigated re-glazing to make the tub look better, and to save money.

The next day, Doug called me back. I told him about a bathtub in a rental unit I manage and asked for a quote to refinish/re-glaze the tub. He was forthright and explained the ifs, ands and buts. He told me the more they had to sand, strip (etc.) the tub, the more it would cost, but no more than about $400.00.
Doug sounded like a good guy and a real person. I didn't even shop
