It brings a smile to our customer when Zach makes it look so easy. Zach Blazer has been with Esber Rugs for over 10 years. Chet Esber has spent his life immersed in the world of fine rugs.
As a toddler he took his first steps on Persian rugs and later used rug piles as mountain ranges in childhood play. He grew up at his grandfather's side in the rug store, and as a teenager he began to assist in the selling, cleaning, and repair of oriental rugs. Throughout his college years, he continued to assist and learn from his grandfather during summer vacations.
Chet earned a B.A. in Finance and an M.A. in Instructional Systems from Penn State University. He worked as an instructional designer at Penn State before returning a full time position as his grandfather's assistant in 1999. Chet is now continuing his grandfather's policy of providing customers fine quality products and services.

Wool area rug cleaning typically takes 10 days to complete. The basic steps are listed below. We use a wet immersion process to clean area rugs and oriental rugs. This is the original and in our opinion the best method for thoroughly cleaning a wool rug. Of course we would think this, we cleaned over 55,000 area rugs with this process since the 1930s.

My grandfather, Webb Elais Esber W.E. Esber, started in the rug business at the end of his freshman year of college. In order to make money for the next school year, an uncle offered Webb a summer job selling oriental rugs. He did so well in just a few weeks that he was able to go home to prepare for the next school year.

Over the years, we had purchased some small handmade rugs from Esber and always had a good experience. Recently we downsized to a house with wood floors and so were in the market for area rugs. We went to Esber and they were terrific. These people live for their rugs and are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. Chet (the owner) and Zach have a terrific touch for what works in various situations. We ended up purchasing a Turkish Charbagh ("garden") rug for our living room and it is exquisite. We also purchased a hall runner and two Mumlak rugs for a bedroom--we couldn't be happier with them. And

When we moved into town, we went from a tiled floor and wall-to-wall carpet home into a home that has hardwood floors throughout and desperately needed area rugs. Esber Rugs was fantastic to work with because we were able to select various rugs which Chet Esber delivered to the house on loan while we could see what they looked like in our space with our lighting. It was so helpful to see how rugs fit into our rooms to make a decision on these rug investments.

My husband lived in Turkey for awhile and started an obsession for quality carpets and rugs. He brought back multiple suitcases filled with carpets and sadly... I didn't like any of them. I'm picky. So we started an epic journey to find the perfect carpet. When we moved to State College, the void of a quality rug market was filled!
