Spirit Pruners is a coalescence of eager dedicated arborists who work with trees using the most current science, take great care of their clients, and have an eye for creative refinement. After studying arboriculture as a hobby, Kelly Chadwick left a 14 year career in wine distribution to prune trees.
Inherent in the arborist's psyche is a fascination with wood's many purposes along with an compulsive desire to reuse it. Our company has a hierarchy of uses for debris from jobs, starting at the bottom with mulch and rising up to material for fine woodworking and art. Recycling equals respect for the planet, respect for money, respect for life, and respect for others.

Had the honor of creating a video presentation for the ISA interpreting mushrooms on and around trees. It was a wonderful opportunity to deepen my knowledge and support our community of passionate, devoted, curious professionals. This wood rose let's me know when I have forgotten to water it by shedding one leaf, a yellow flag to get my attention.

Spirit Pruners reduced one of the two tops and cleaned up the canopy from a very large 150+ foot Ponderosa pine tree in my yard. The arborist did a fantastic job and the ground crew meticulously cleaned up the yard and the pathway where they hauled and chipped all the debris. I highly recommend them!

Spirit Pruners will make your Home Low Budget, This Company will continue to devalue Spokane neighborhoods. The most expensive ZIP Codes & neighborhoods in Spokane have the most mature trees. They continue to encourage homeowners cut down multiple healthy trees. These homes now have brown grass, stumps, weeds and lack character. These Pine Tree’s create shade, absorb storm water from significant storms, add to our green space and stop weeds from taking over. This company will cause South Hill to be barren & resemble parts of central WA like Moses Lake, please protect the value of our homes on

I have used Spirit Pruners every few years, 3 times now, to prune small and large trees in our yard. They have always done an excellent job. Kelly is a very knowledgeable arborist, he has always been able to answer my many questions, gives prudent advice and keeps our trees looking their best with a natural shape. His crew is friendly and professional and carries out the planned pruning in a safe efficient way. Clean up is done so well there is little trace of their activity. I highly recommend Spirit Pruners.

Spirit Pruners gave us back our yard! They helped reclaim a very overgrown and neglected Hawthorne, spruced up our Spruce, gave our Maple a clean up and removed two problem trees that were looming threateningly over our neighbor's deck and our power lines. Can't wait to plant some fruit trees in their place!
While the crew was working, I barely saw them pause. They worked excellently together and left the space in better shape than when they showed up. I recommend them unreservedly. We'll be having them back every few years just to keep our trees healthy and happy.

The most incredible arborist and crew I’ve ever seen. They gave advice and were very knowledgeable but what was so impressive is they followed my lead- I truly didn’t have to tell them anything twice. They remembered what I wanted plus honored my weird requests (there’s a dead limb with a bird family living inside that I wanted undisturbed) and communicated every step of the way. They even cuddled my dog who was dying for their attention. 😍 I’d give them ten stars!
