Refused to call back after getting initial quote for glass work. The story kept changing from we only come twice per month, to once a week, to we called but there was no answer (no missed calls on the day they alleged). When asked did they still even want to do the job - the sub-par customer service response was well if you don't want to wait, then get someone else. We informed company when work began (2 weeks ago) and kept them informed. The story for that was no one writes down messages or passes information on.

I recommend Akamai Glass to all of my family and friends. I checked out the competition before purchasing and no other "Guru" can compare to Akamai's quality, service, and price. I've had a great experience working with Zach to create a custom glass cut to match my live edge mango wood slab. I love the fact that they came to trace my table and were able to deliver this in one piece (a big risk for a glass company). This table is over 10 feet long and required 4 installers. They were careful with the glass and cleaned it to clear sparkling quality after install. I am not a contractor

Horrible service. Ordered in December and the Measurer didn't come out until January. Then they didn't order for 3 weeks because our Contractor didn't give them the deposit (he had authorized the Credit Card on file). Then they didn't order for another 3 weeks because of COVID. Then they cancelled the install because one of the workers called in sick. They finally came out to install and the measurement was off by 4 inches. Akamai Glass is definitely a reasonable price and honest. They gave the best quote, and told me I didnt need to go with such a thick glass and suggested something thinner. I respect that. I will be honest, timing and communication was an issue but after all, reasonable and they did an awesome job. I would refer them again. As my job was custom and specialized so timing understandably could be an issue. Thank you Akamai Glass company. Supporting local business!!!!

When I messaged them for an estimate on Yelp they responded right away. I called them regarding my estimate and got my order in right away. They said 5-7 days for my table top but didn't get anything and needed to follow up with them after two weeks has passed. They said they were gonna follow up on my order and called me back on the status but didn't get a call for a week.
When I finally got a call from them they said they were delivering it the next day.

Don't wast your time with this company! They don't even live up to their name, how about Not So Akamai! I called for a quote, the guy on the phone said he'd have the estimator call and make an appointment. Two weeks later I received a call to set up an appointment. They are not interested in the small jobs, so don't bother calling. Go straight to The Glass Guru of Honolulu where they respond to your call and react! By the time I received the call from the (Not So) Akamai Glass Company I had already ordered my glass! This company is not interested in your business, go somewhere

Akamai Glass was recommended by Angie's List for repair of my jalousies. Several aluminum rivets had broken on the handles/levers. They recommended replacing the jalousie frame in one window and re-riveting the others.
Quote 6 days later (I inquired by email after 3 days): "All for the sum of $2532.00, tax included". I have no idea how 4 rivets and one replacement strip jalousie hardware could be $2500. I have the glass, I just don't know how to rivet.

When shopping for glass be sure to get a few estimates! I got 4 estimates for our shower and the estimates were all very different! Of the 4 estimates we got Akamai Glass was the only company we could afford! The other 3 were outrageous! They came in before our business was open to do the install and was done in 2hrs! Great job

In this day and age of mediocre to terrible customer service, it’s important to give shout outs to businesses who are getting it right. Had a little mishap on Sunday that shattered the glass in the living room window. With bad weather coming and being unable to secure the house, I was desperate. Long story short - spent 2 frustrating hours calling 11 businesses and getting lots of “we’re too busy” and “it’ll be 3-4 weeks”. Finally called Akamai Glass. I must’ve sounded defeated. I had Akamai Glass do the install on a 3/8" custom frame-less shower stall enclosure as well as change the rollers out on 2 aluminum framed windows in my condo.
They were timely and arrived when scheduled for both the estimates/measurement as well as the install.
They did a good job with both projects and even added some fabric to the window frames to assist with some rattling issues I had. I thought pricing was fair, especially after speaking to Screens & Things, Inc. who I would NOT recommend just based on the outrageous quotes I got from them.
All in it cost me a little over

Last week a thug kicked in my business' front glass door Saturday morning to do a Smash-n-Grab at 5:30am. After the cops left and we cleaned up all the broken glass I called Akamai Glass because they had helped us replace our door glass back in 2011. Their phone message said they weren't open on Saturday but I could "press '6' for Chari's cell phone." I pressed '6' and got Chari. She said a crew was going to be working that Saturday and she would send someone over to measure and get me a quote. We use Akamai glass for all of our specialty orders - obscure glass, rain glass, reeded glass. They do a great job and have a quick turn around time. It is not a beautiful store front, office or parking area- but they get the job done. They even offered us free samples to keep on hand for our customers.
