We moved to Mason, Michigan in 1995 after serving 8 years in the US Navy and we have 2 wonderful children, Allen & Sara. Owning our own business is something we've always wanted to do because of our love and compassion for people.

Grading is a basic part of the maintenance process for gravel and stone driveways. With time, loose gravel can cause portions of the driveway to settle, resulting in unwanted pot holes and ruts. Grading maximizes the life of your gravel driveway, road, or parking area and helps reduce long term repair and maintenance costs.

Mark also was able to help grade a small hill just off my yard line and even helped moved a huge boulder from my lawn into a flower bed near my house while he was here with his heavy equipment. After receiving multiple estimates, we hired Mark and his crew to regrade and gravel our long, winding, inclined driveway. They arrived as scheduled and immediately got to work. Upon completion of the project later in the day, they left no trace of having been there with the exception of our brand new beautiful driveway. All work was performed exactly as promised with exceptional detail. Outstanding customer service, pride in their work and fair pricing are what we received from Family Grade & Gravel. I couldn’t believe the great work that Lori and Mark did on our driveway! They are such kind and genuine people. We enjoyed talking with them and having them complete some other work besides our driveway. It’s nice to know there are people willing to go above and beyond in their work! Mark did a great job grading and making sure the leveling was perfect while Lori precisely shaped all of the edges of the driveway. In the great words of Lori, “The stone really makes your house pop.” She is accurate with how nice the stone looks and how many compliments we’ve gotten in a few short days

My husband and I hired Mark and Lori to grade our very long gravel driveway and around our barn. Lori pulled some weeds around our barn - which we didn’t ask to have done. Can't say enough about Mark and the service he provides. He was extremely thorough and ended up not only making a return trip to drop more limestone, but also did a lot more excavating and work than initially planned and didn't charge me a cent more than his original estimate. The driveway looks far better than j ever could've imagined so if you are needing your gravel driveway redone, I would definitely recommend him.

Mark did a great job on our sunken, muddy driveway. He is knowledgeable and friendly and is happy to answer any questions. His price was very fair and reasonable. A couple of times he stopped and consulted with us to make absolutely sure that he was doing it the way we wanted. Our driveway has never looked this good and it's great to have the mud gone. Very pleased with the quality of the service. I met Mark in our 1500ft driveway as I drove down in the car to warn him that our 38ft motorhome was headed down the driveway. I watched Mark go into overdrive with his trusty tractor, going above & beyond to ensure that we were satisfied with his work. Well, we are MORE than satisfied: we are THRILLED! Family Grade & Gravel does excellent rock driveway work. Mark completed my driveway a few months ago and just returned to do a little touch up work. I have dealt with a lot of contractors in my time, but none have come close to the friendly, honest, professional service that Mark delivers. The quality of his work is absolutely the best.
