We are a full-service fire suppression company that designs, installs, services and inspects fire sprinkler systems with the highest commitment to customer safety and satisfaction. Burtell Fire Protection was established in 2009 by Joe Burtell, who acquired Burtell Fire Protection, Inc. from Dan and Elaine Burtell.

Combined with Burtell Fire Protection, Inc., Burtell Fire Protection has over 27 years of experience in the fire sprinkler industry. Burtell Fire Protection has the expertise and resources to handle every aspect of fire sprinkler protection for any size project. Our professionals are among the most qualified and capable in the industry, allowing us to offer a full spectrum of services.

Our designers are trained in AutoCAD, MEPCAD and SprinkCAD, and certified by the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) and Certified Fire Protection Specialist (NFPA). Our designers and fitters receive continuing hands-on training for specialty valves and other devices used in fire sprinkler systems through certified programs.

Burtell Fire has a history of repeatedly underbidding competition,
completing the project, and doubling price before suing businesses for
settlement.
Burtell Fire has sued multiple businesses in Bozeman, settling each time.
After finishing our sprinkler system Burtell Fire claimed that the
original quote was meant to read that each the business owner and the
owner of the building were to pay the balance, resulting in a bill
twice what the original bid. Even though the original contract did not
include any of the stipulations they claimed we ended up paying 3x the bid by the time litigation was
