Pruning is top on the list annually to maintain the loveliness of these estate homes. From mid-February to early March, attendant homeowners call on Donovan Arborists to professionally prune the beloved shade to perfection. With the foliage absent, it's easier in early winter to assess the pruning required to remove dead, dying and diseased branches, so that the tree continues to grow in a healthy way.
The city does not own the trees within the right-of-way. Instead, they are the responsibility of the homeowner. If you receive a notice from Code Enforcement, it is your responsibility to have the trees on your property and within the right-of-way trimmed. Low-impact tree removal is the goal when removing mature trees like those cultivated in Cherry Hills Village for more than a century.

Donovan is the best. I have 10 large trees and I've had several tree companies work on them and a few have caused so much damage my heart broke but Donovan is, hands down, the best. Donovan may be the highest estimate you get for your pruning but if you love your trees don't bother with anyone else. I really love my trees and they value them as much as I do.

We've had Donovan care for a large cottonwood several times in the past few years. The first experience was a long overdue pruning to improve the overall tree health and protect a few outbuildings. The crew was professional, explained the work they'd need to do and left the tree looking great. The second experience was to remove several large broken branches after a windstorm. Despite some miscommunication that resulted in a one day delay, the crew was very friendly and worked quick. We'll definitely hire Donovan again.

I had three trees in need of care (a couple desperately) and a shrub/bush that needed removed. A friends neighbor referred Donovan arborists to me and I couldn’t be more pleased. They came to look at what I needed quickly, all the work done soon after and everything looked happy and healthy again. I would highly recommend them, my neighbor used a different company, they were more expensive and my trees look better (shape, how they are growing) and that other Co. kind of left a mess in their yard... my guys cleaned up! Had Donovan Arborist's do a large job for us. Paul, the owner, set up an in person consultation for me and outlined our options and gave his recommendation (unfortunately this meant taking down the large locust tree in our front yard :( ). Their prices were competitive with other vendors we had bid the same project. The crew showed up on time, were very courteous and friendly and completed the work as agreed upon. They did a great job cleaning up afterwards. We would definitely use them again and recommend them to others looking for tree work.

Donovan Arborists has taken care of all of our tree services for the past three years, and they are hands down THE BEST! They are excellent and I'd recommend them to anyone. Paul and his amazing crews have pruned my trees, they come and fertilize in the spring as necessary and have installed two absolutely beautiful trees in my back yard, one being a memorial tree which was extra special to me. Donovan Arborist to the rescue!! My neighbors tree fell on my house on a Saturday. Paul, the Owner and Certified Arborist, was at my house within 30 minutes and expertly got the tree off my house!! Paul Donovan has done work for me over the years, and I continue to hire him for my primary residence as well as a rental. Donovan Arborists did some complex work for me when they took down a 60ft Willow tree adjacent to my garage. All the work was completed safely, and I was very appreciative of the professionalism and hard work. This is a great company.

These guys are fantastic! Legal action was threatened after you said that no one was coming back to finish the job. You unfortunately seem to have a problem keeping your facts straight.

This company started a job and refuses to finish the work. We had a huge tree removed. They had to come back after lines where marked to grind the stump. They have given us excuses on not seeing the utility boxes, not being able to get their machine to the stump due to a plastic shed not being removed after telling me someone would help me move it as we have to move it the day of the job due to HOA, then it was they where distracted by the dog and kids, then it was no one was home even though I was home all day, no one showed up, and finally they just flat out refuse. We now have a mess of a yard

We purchased a home in 2013 and we needed an arborist to help us select trees and shrubs. We contacted several and decided upon Donovan Arborists. The reason being was that Paul ( owner) came out personally to walk us through selecting trees for our property, ones that would thrive in soil type, sun exposure, etc.... Here we are 3 years later and the landscape is amazing. We have them come out every year to evaluate our property and make sure our plants will make our landscape enjoyable. We will use them as long as they keep up the quality service and care.

We used Donovan Arborists to remove a very large cotton wood and a smaller silver maple. I had several companies provide quotes, but Donovan was the best price. They're also licensed, certified, and insured.
Paul and his crew were courteous, professional, and extremely good at what they do. They were conscientious of the surrounding structures, and did a very thorough job of cleaning up.

Yay! We can see our house again!
These guys did a fantastic job of pruning a large maple (40') directly in front of our house. It was planted 30 years ago when the home was built but never had any maintenance, says our new neighbors. They also removed a dead apple tree that was in front of the garage and cut the stump really low so that the stump grinder could do his job quickly = less $$.
I was not home when the service was done but my wife was and said they were very friendly and respectful. A crew of 3-4 guys spent 3-4 hours at the house and when I cam home, the yard was absolutely clean

Donovan Arborist was professional and gave excellent service. We got 3 other estimates for a tree removal, and theirs was the lowest. I had a coupon for another tree service that would have put it lower, but went with Donovan because of their professional courtesy. They came quickly for an estimate, left a paper copy and emailed it, and removed the tree on schedule with only sawdust. They even cut it to length for firewood for me! Payment was online and was very simple.
