Casement windows & Awning windows are hinged windows that swing outward, making it easy to let fresh air into your home. They easily glide open and shut securely with the turn of a handle. They are hinged on the left or right side of the window, while Awning windows are hinged at the top and swing outward from the bottom.
When you think of residential windows, you probably think of single-hung windows and not double-hung windows. Single-hung windows are the common type where the lower pane, or sash, moves and the top sash is stationary. But why limit yourself? Instead, choose double-hung windows. With double-hung windows, both the top and the bottom sashes can slide or tilt, giving you more options for ventilation and cleaning.
Bay windows and Bow windows are great for opening a room up which makes it appear bigger. A bay window's overall structure is a picture window with two smaller windows on either side. Great service. We ordered a door from Lowes. It arrived after 12 weeks and was not the door we ordered. After giving us a new install date (8 more weeks) we cancelled order and went to JFK. They delivered (and installed) door and only took one week later than Lowe's original install date not to mention a higher quality door. The installers were friendly and efficient and we have already received MANY compliments on our new door. Hope we never need another door or window but if we do, we will definitely use JFK!
