Chris Fischvogt started his apprenticeship with general contracting in 2002. Within two years, he was buying his own houses to renovate. He acquired his MHIC license and others began hiring him to do to their houses what he had done to his own. His business continued to grow, and he now works with over 20 realtors in the Baltimore area who trust him to get the job done well and at a fair price.

We used Fischvogt General Contracting for several home improvement projects, but the latest and most spectacular is the new loft above our bedroom. Chris not only oversaw all the construction, but helped with the design and selection of many of my favorite architectural features. His keen sense of our taste, his dedication to completing the job within budget, as well as his easy-going manner made working with him a pleasure.

Fischvogt General Contracting is a greatly reliable service in the Baltimore area. They have twice now delivered consistently well-done, beautiful results in different rooms in my home with varying levels of repair work to be done. We give Chris and his team our highest recommendation. After purchasing a home in Baltimore's Bolton Hill neighborhood, we needed to have the first two floors painted as well as a series of other odds and ends throughout. Chris and his team did an incredible job, which was no small feat for a home built in the late 1800s. They were able to manage all of the molding and finishes while keeping with the integrity of the space.

Chris and his team have done two bathroom renovations and two kitchen renovations for me over the last six years (in our previous house and our current home). We hired Fischvogt Contracting for some repair work on our roof deck and for some interior drywall repair. We were concerned that our city row house would get torn apart while we were having work done, but the crew was very clean and kept the mess to a minimum. They put a lot of thought into the best way to accomplish the job and didn't try to sell us on a big unnecessary project. We will hire them again next time!

We hired Fischvogt Contracting to replace a set of porch stairs and decking in front of our house that had gone from eyesore to hazard. We wanted to maintain the look of the porch, and without going into a lot of detail, Chris and his team did exactly that with their excellent carpentry and painting - they replaced the tongue and groove pine boards with the same type of lumber, found railings and rail posts of a very similar style to the originals, matched the two different types of paint used perfectly, and even improved the appearance of the kickboards by using single boards. Hired Chris to hang new drywall in our narrow stairwell. Chris’ initial consultation was thorough and we were impressed with his attention to detail and knowledge. He identified a structural issue that other contractors we interviewed did not pick up on. As a result, Chris was able to provide us with an accurate cost estimate up front.
