Molds gradually destroy the materials on which they grow. Again, mold requires water to grow and there a quite a few ways through which moisture can become a problem in an indoor environment. Here is Central Texas, simple uncontrolled humidity can be a big factor. Certain moisture issues have to do with changes in the way buildings are made.
The assessment starts with an inspection of the property and the areas of concern. Texas Mold Consultants uses specialized instruments, including moisture meters, infrared imaging thermal cameras, Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) direct readout instruments, particle counters, etc. to evaluate indoor air quality issues.
This is a measurement of what is present in the air in a certain area at that moment in time. We use a calibrated air pump to sample for five minutes. The pump sucks in 75 liters of air to be sampled. We use Allergenco-D air sampling cassettes, which collect mold spores for laboratory analysis. The cassette is sealed and delivered to a State Mold Licensed lab where the genus and concentration of spores in the air are determined.
Mold remediation is defined by the State of Texas as the removal, cleaning, sanitizing, demolition or other treatment of mold. The Texas Mold Assessment and Remediation Regulations (TMARR) of 2005 mandates that a state licensed Mold Remediation Contractor (MRC) must have a mold remediation protocol prior to any mold remediation project, regardless of square footage.
If mold growth occurs in an indoor environment, the occupants could start to report odors and health problems such as headaches, breathing difficulties, skin irritation, allergic reactions and aggravation of asthma symptoms. While it can never be proven, these symptoms could be associated with mold exposure.

Dan guided me through resolving a small issue in my home that needed to be addressed quickly. He made himself readily available, educated me, and went above and beyond. Dan was also able to recommend other providers who were equally responsive. Thanks, Dan!

I would highly recommend Dan and the work he performed. I live out-of-state and had a mold issue in an investment property I owned. He was very transparent through the whole process and was available via phone/email, day, night or weekend. He recommended remediation companies and it was very comforting to have someone trustworthy who was looking out for my best interest.

We felt very comfortable and confident in Dan’s experience and the quality of his work. He was very flexible with scheduling and even came out a second time at no extra charge. He was also quick in getting reports back when we told him they were time sensitive. Really appreciate the work he did.

Dan quickly responded to my need for an emergency mold inspection that was found the day before a move into a new property. His quick information saved us a lot of hassle and trouble of showing up with a truck full of our furnishings to find the home was contaminated. We were able to terminate the lease based on the detailed 26 page report that Dan provided. He saved me and my family a lot of time and money and frankly impact on our health from moving into a contaminated home that wasn't visible during initial walk throughs.

Mr.Yates is very professional and very good at what he does. His extensive experience and vast knowledge helped put me at ease through the mold assessment and remediation process. He went above and beyond not just once but throughout the entire process to help educate everyone involved and create the healthiest and safest environment he could for my home. He’s not only superior at what he does but he’s a good person that actually genuinely cares. I highly recommend Dan for anyone who cares about the health of their family because he will build a protocol to remove mold the correct and non toxic

Dan was incredible to get to work with on a mold issue I experienced. He was so knowledgeable, thorough and went above and beyond in helping to counsel me in how to best navigate the repair process, and to ensure this did not occur again. I work as a nutritionist and in the functional space, and as such I understand the importance of a clean mold free environment and have high standards. Dan was excellent!

It took a week more that the timeline that Dan gave me (with many excuses) for the protocol. 2 months, many many email, texts, calls to get the air quality test results. It actually took me sending a demand letter to get them. Had to request the clearance certificate many times as well which was sent three times due to wrong information on it. He actually did something very wrong(and you know very well what that is) more actions to come. His professional practices are totally a joke!

I haven't tried any other services, but Dan Yates was excellent in all the ways I needed him to be. He was thorough, patient, willing to explain every detail of his findings, forthright, and fair as far as negotiating payment. He did not press me to pay for more services than I needed in order to advocate for myself to my apartment manager. He spent extra time on the phone with me, helping me understand how the mold he had found should be safely removed, and he even spent time on a conference call with me and my manager, explaining the same thing to him. I honestly felt he did his best to care
