I started my career in 1990, apprenticing for Steve Cook for 5 years before setting up my own shop. Since then, I've done a wide range of cabinetry projects: kitchens, home libraries, pantries, nooks, wardrobes, display and entertainment units. My cabinets have the quality look of handmade rather than the modular look found with store bought cabinets.

Do you want not just a great craftsman, but a great human being to do work on your home? If so, Mike is your guy. He deals not only deals with my personality quirkiness, but my home quirkiness as well. He is responsive but patient. There is 0 pressure, but a lot of fun learning going back and forth coming up with what makes the most sense for you *and* your home (and yes, both matter).
I am not the type of person to lookup images of what I want, but I know the functionality that I want, and Mike makes those dreams a reality. He also explains as he goes so that we can think through the details

Mike Barton built and installed all new kitchen cabinets for us as part of our total kitchen renovation. He is absolutely meticulous and detail oriented. Beautiful craftsmanship, and affordable. We are so glad we didn't go with factory built. The superior quality shows.

Michael is a craftsman, pure and simple. After looking on Houzz and many other sites and not finding the right style & dimensions, we reluctantly decided to go the custom route-- reluctant because we assumed the cost would be so much higher. Our assumptions were wrong! Michael designed, built, and installed a gorgeous bathroom vanity and matching floor-to-ceiling shelving in an alcove behind the shower, all for a price comparable to some of the mass-produced vanities online. The work is meticulous, attractive, and is a lovely focal point in our new bathroom. We would recommend Michael to anyone

Michael Barton does amazing work. I am so happy that we found him. I met with several other companies, but he was the only one that was able to meet our needs within our budget. Michael was able to bring to life the visions I had for our kitchen and butler’s pantry. He added details and customizations that really made the final product one that folks ooh and ahh over when they see the kitchen for the first time. Michael made the whole process easy. He measured, built, painted and hung the cabinets so we didn’t need to sub that out to another company, or do it ourselves. We have had the kitchen

Mike did an excellent job of combining elements of our existing kitchen into the new remodel work. This saved us $$ and allowed us to seamlessly tie into the existing house design. I needed to reface some of my kitchen cabinets and replace others in order to prepare my condo for sale. After I received a bid for over $21,000 from Home Depot, I called Barton Custom Cabinets, which bid $6,200.
Because Mike Barton makes custom cabinets, I could choose any style and any type of wood I wanted for the cabinets, and any paint color or clear finish. Mike is very easy to work with, and is resourceful in suggesting options to make cabinets that will best accommodate the client's needs.
