I was fortunate enough to find this store as I had some time to kill before my next appointment. Cathy was welcoming and sooooo knowledgeable. I bought two fixtures within about 15 minutes and had been looking for “just the right thing” for months. I can’t say enough good things about Modern Lighting Design. "Cathy with a C" is a genius not only at the art and science of lighting, but in giving a helpful advice about decorating tips for use of spaces in your home. I have no idea about decorating but bought a new home and had several lighting needs, and she not only helped pick out lights she thought would be appropriate (and fans), but was careful to ask about the spaces where they would go, my personal tastes etc. She really cares about what she sells you. The results of her choices look fantastic in my place. Great examples of inventory in the showroom, and Cathy is very knowledgable about where

Liza Branch at Modern Lighting was instrumental in bringing our vision of a custom designed light fixture to life. Now that fixture is a focal point in the design of our new townhome. Other lighting companies expressed little interest in assisting us with a complicated custom fixture, but Modern Lighting took on the challenge and convinced a manufacturer to take on the project. We are grateful to Liza and Cathy for their assistance and persistence. To top it off, they recommended an electrician for the install. Full service!

I highly recommend working with Modern Lighting. My experience working with them felt like I was in a small town where everyone knows and trusts everyone. I've been looking for a new light for my kitchen for quite some time. I stopped in Modern Lighting and was greeted by Cathy. I showed her photos of my room and she immediately suggested a couple of options both of which I really liked. They had a sample of one of the lights that they allowed me to bring home and see if it would work in my kitchen. Their process was so easy and convenient and I love my new light. The price point was great too

Our experience with Modern Lighting Design has been fantastic. All I had to do is give Liza(the owner)a brief description of what I needed and within minutes she had dozens of catalogs pulled with hundreds of ideas. They let me order my fans and chandeliers and store them at the store while our house was being built. Incredibly accommodating and friendly, this is the place to buy your lighting and fans! We have received several compliments on how sleek our fans look and how beautiful and modern our chandeliers are. Thanks Liza and Cathy!
