By providing fruit tree care and education, we graft the knowledge from professional arborists and orchardists to share with you - the backyard grower. Our mission is to pioneer a new and abundant fruitscape, creating cultural change across Los Angeles County. Recognizing the need for fruit tree education, Joanna was inspired to launch the Fruitstitute.
Joanna's love of gardening and growing began at The Ron Finley Project, where she planted and tended edible gardens on the streets of South LA. Formally trained in fruit tree care at Huntington Ranch, Joanna knew after her first class that she was born to prune. She soon joined forces with the public art project, Fallen Fruit as a Fruit Tree Specialist and Community Engagement Manager.
Joanna holds a Masters in Health and Social Change from USC Annenberg School of Communication and is currently studying for her arborist certification. She looks forward to taking care of all your fruit tree needs. We teach hands-on workshops and offer lectures on all things fruit tree - both in person and online - including pruning, planting, nutrition and history.

I have a peach,lemon, avocado, fig, and an olive tree on my property. I have never had them trimmed professionally and over the years the fruit has gotten smaller and the bounty from the trees has dwindled. I went online to yelp to look for someone who was educated on fruit tree trimming and wasn't going to hack away Willy-nilly at my trees like Freddy Kruger on crack. A poor trimming can kill a tree or stunt it's performance for years I received many offers from companies to come out cheap and quick, but no one specialized in fruit trees except the Fruitstitute They have an educated

Joanne's team did a very professional job trimming our orange, lime, lemon, avocado and olive tree. They took time to explain why and where trim was needed, and how to care for them going forward. . They brought their own high grade compost and custom mulch. Almost immediately the trees looked better. Very highly recommend for the care and service customized for each tree.

The Fruitstitute really is an institution when it comes to fruit tree care. The team is very knowledgeable and do great work. I had Chris, Nathan and Joanna work on a big project. It was a super hot day and they ripped through the tree work. I couldn't believe how much they got done in so little time and also educated me in the process. Thanks team!!

Joanna Glovinsky from the Fruitstitute is hands down awesome, friendly, and knows her stuff when it comes to fruit trees. Do yourself a favor and hire her for a few hours - it's a game changer.
