The Inside Story Design, LLC is a full service, award-winning residential interior design firm based in San Antonio, Texas. We specialize in kitchen and bathroom design and remodeling. Lead Designer, Julie Risman has 20 years experience in the residential design industry including kitchen and bathroom design and remodeling, furniture, lighting and accessory selection, custom furniture design, space planning, real estate staging and more.

We visit your home and give you room-by-room action items, estimated costs and recommended trades-a great option for DIY customers or folks who are at the beginning of their design journey. At the Design in a Day consult, we craft a clear design vision, review specific design goals and provide professional design expertise, tips and tricks and creative brainstorming for any puzzling design dilemma.
The design process can be complicated and has lots of moving parts. So we use this project management planning process to ensure that your project goes smoothly from beginning to end! We used Inside Story Design to do our remodel and loved every minute working with such an awesome company, decorater and team! We had lived in our previous home for 25 years… so this project in our new home was very special to us! Julie, the owner, made our experience so awesome! Her eye for design is amazing! My rooms flow from one to the other….something she feels is important and something I never really paid attention too! We are so grateful for the time, energy and heart that they put into our project! She truly loves what she does and it shows!!! You will not regret making the decision

Julie is an outstanding interior designer! I am in the process of building a home and hired Julie to help me pick out everything from floors to countertops, plumbing fixtures, sinks, appliances, and stone for the inside and outside of my home. Julie listens and pays close attention to the wants and needs of her client. She helped me take my vision for my home and make it a soon to be reality. Our experience with Julie and her talented design team in our recent kitchen remodel was absolutely wonderful! Julie took the time initially to understand our tastes and preferences, then offered a selection of potential design solutions. She earnestly listened and incorporated what was important to us, making adjustments as needed. Amanda provided fabulous computerized images that brought our ideas to life.
