My name is Scott Rief, owner of Scott's Landscaping, LLC. I was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky. I've been in the landscaping industry since I was 10 years old, starting off with lawn mowing and leaf raking. I graduated from Trinity High School before heading to the University of Kentucky, where I received my bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture.
After college, I started my business when I moved back to Louisville in 1999. What started as a part time job, blossomed into a love for plants and design. I've been operating my landscaping business since 1999, focusing on landscape design and installation. I've won the Angie's List Super Service Award every year since 2012 and currently rank as one of Louisville's top reviewed landscaping companies.
I do all of the design work myself, I'm always on site for the installation, and I'm always available to answer your landscaping questions. I use high quality plants that are locally grown and sourced, and hand select all of the plant material myself.

We had some trees installed in our backyard by Scott’s Landscaping and were very pleased throughout the whole process! Scott is an excellent communicator and kept me updated at every point along the way. Our trees look great and we were happy with the price. Highly recommend!

Incredibly happy customers. We found Scott’s landscaping through the usual search for landscaping reviews and decided to use him. The job was a full redo of the front landscaping to include landscape lighting, cutting down a small dead tree, grinding several stumps and new plants/bushes/tree. We were given a drawing of where new plants would go and a actual picture of the proposed plants. The finished product is incredible. It was a large transformation and Scott nailed it. We are very very happy!

Fast response to my quote request, worked me into the schedule quickly, great communication, confirmed everything I wanted (twice), showed up on time and completed the job timely. Extremely responsive, transparent and thorough on scheduling and pricing. Scott's crew completed a huge lava rock removal job, replacing all our plants, installing lights, and even planted a tree in two days. Upon completion, Scott gave us a very informative walk through with instructions on keeping our new plants healthy.

Scott installed landscape lighting at our home. He was prompt in responding to our request for an estimate. I never thought he was trying to sell me more than was needed for our home. We decided to select Scott because he is a local small business that we wanted to support. The installation was completed before the estimated date and we could not be more pleased. We have already received several compliments on the landscape lighting.

Scott and Charlie planted seven Thuja Green Giants and five Emerald arborvitae at my residence. Scott is customer oriented and was very accessible when it came to answering any and all questions that I had - and I had many. The plants he provided were high quality. He even offered to dig the holes by hand at no extra cost if I'd rather not have the auger tractor in my yard, which I initially thought would damage my grass but ended up working out fine. The next day or two after completion I texted him some watering and care questions and he remained accessible by texting me back the same day. I
