Arc fault protection, or arc fault circuit interrupters (AFCI) has been around for some time now. But unless your home was built or remodeled after 2005, you might not be familiar with it. AFCI protection is provided via a specifically designed AFCI breaker, AFCI receptacle, or a combination of the two.
Ground fault protection has been around since about 1975. It has proven to be one of the most important developments in the electrical industry to-date. GFCI devices are programmed to watch for situations where electricity is finding a path to ground that does not align with the design of the electrical system.

I made arrangements to have these guys come out and take a look at our wiring and give us an estimate on what it would take to do (I waited 3 weeks for the appointment just to have them come take a look). He gave me a ballpark verbally and then, his name being Jeff, said he would be sending me a formal estimate and their scheduling person would be in touch. I called and did a follow up with them 2 weeks after they said they'd be sending me estimates/scheduling arrangements, and got a "so sorry, we've been busy I'll try to get this over to you today".. that was nearly two weeks ago. I contacted Electri-serve to replace my service panel and they sent Mr. Kessinger to give me a quote. Mr. Kessinger was professional and knowledgeable and gave me a great price. I then email Mr Kessinger on 5/21 saying I'd like to hire them he responded on 5/21 saying "Stacey will get with you to schedule a date for the work". Today is now 7/24 and I never heard a peep from the companies scheduler Stacey so I hired JW electric and paid the extra 300 for a company that will actually contact you back and schedule a date to preform the work you are trying go hire them for. In the future I will not

I called at 8am..said I needed an electrician later this afternoon or tomorrow -after being talked to like a child on how to reset a breaker (duh) I was told by Stacey that she would be in touch "mid day"
to let me know if she had someone available later afternoon or the next day.. No call and when I called back at 3:30 pm told I must have misunderstood what she was saying and that she would call even later today or tomorrow.. and that she doesn't have anyone available .. bad sign when you can't even schedule the service in the first place and have to call the provider back

So I had apparently a really easy service (just replacing a breaker), but it was quick and painless. The electrician was on time and made it fast. He confused me a little when he started talking about replacing the breaker box and ALLLLLLLLL the stuff that went with it, but we were able to clarify things for me to understand. Apparently when I Yelped this company I was geographically in the Denver area when I searched, so I didn't realize how far they had to travel to get to me in Conifer. I had a dishwasher go out and the aluminum wiring needed to be brought up to code before install of my new one. My usual electrician was booked solid and suggested this company if I needed expediency. I'm glad she did! Since I'm not knowledgeable on electrical work I had my engineer father join me. The electrician spoke to both of us, rather than ignore me completely or treat me like a peon. When he walked out of the room My father confirmed that this guy knew his stuff. I needed to have my meter housing replaced, which required a permit and an inspection by the city. Working with Electri-Serve was a very easy experience... they explained everything clearly, were reasonably priced, and were effective and efficient. Highly skilled electricians at fair prices. Very efficient, quick scheduling. This is our go-to for residential repairs and installations. Our house is loaded with oddball / complicated / commercial fixtures, and Electri-serve has always done a great job. We have had a lot of problems with other electricians doing terrible work and are thankful for the work Electri-serve does for us.

We needed/wanted to have a variety of things done in our house. We installed 13 dimmers, replaced a fuse, installed a new light in a bathroom, and a few other things. We got a variety of quotes, and ElectriServe gave us the best quote (one quote was more than double what ElectriServe quoted). That worried me a bit, but the value we received was unprecedented. The work was spot on, they were friendly, and they even gave us some tips for how to take care of a few things ourselves. We will not go to anyone else in the future - awesome stuff!

Absolutely loved my experience with Electri-Serve it was fast and painless. I replaced my electrical panel on my house and an outside outlet. Jeff was awesome at explaining all answers to my questions. Price was reasonable and when the electrician came out, he was super friendly, kept my house clean, and wasn't as loud as I expected. Passed inspections no problems. I highly recommend them!

My much awaited kitchen remodel is under way. After thinking about, waiting for, and saving - I couldn't wait for the exciting changes. Jeff came to do the estimate on the electrical. He was on-time, gave suggestions as to what would work, was fair in his pricing. I did have to call to remind him about the estimate, but that isn't unexpected. The quoted price was fair and reasonable. The first day of work the electrician showed up on time, spent the first day planning out the work - better that than jumping in and making a mess of things! The electrician did talk A LOT!! And complained

In the summer, it's tough to pin down an independent electrician who can make it to your house and install a much-needed ceiling fan so you and your family don't melt into the bedsheets overnight. At least, that was my experience after I called some of the most well reputed electricians on Yelp, sometime during the month of June, and discovered not one of them was available within three weeks.
