Phil Thomas, owner of Glen Springs Enterprises, is a licensed landscape contractor. He discovered his professional calling while assisting a friend on a landscaping job in the late 1970s. Phil realized he had a gift for creating unique landscape installations. Soon after, he quit his social services job and with a partner launched Green Springs Enterprises.

Working from a landscape architect's master plan, we make intelligent decisions about planting, combining creativity, knowledge and logistics. The look and feel of an outdoor garden involves many factors: your aesthetic preferences, growth patterns, soil content, sun exposure and the presence of neighboring wildlife, among others.
We use sustainable practices to limit excess water use and minimize run off. Drip systems, low-flow nozzles, automatic water controls, sub-surface irrigation and other water conservation techniques are used. Irrigation repair and client education are also key to promoting green, or environmentally-friendly, water conservation practices.
We offer year-round landscape maintenance, including fertilization, lawn care, pruning, removal of dead trees and shrubs, and other property enhancements and repairs. We offer maintenance services such as lawn care, pruning, and weeding help to keep your property healthy and looking beautiful throughout the year.

Phil & team are great! We hired GSE for a major landscaping project at our weekend home in Calistoga- we're on a hill, structure/engineering for multiple rock walls along our driveway had to be done right. Phil was great at providing recommendations along the way, and always kept me posted on the status of the project. This project completely transformed our property! Highly recommend GSE and look forward to working together on future projects.

I just finished a large scale project with Phil and his crew... Front, back & side yards. TONS of hard scape... Outdoor fireplace, patios, large concrete pond with water-feature... Fences, gates, tons of rocks, irrigation... And of course incredible beautiful fantastic plants. The project went smoothly (despite I decided to add an enormous pond and remove a tree last minute)... I am soooo glad I waited for him because his wait list can be a little long but his prices are VERY reasonable. I am a very satisfied customer :)

If I said all the great things I could say about Phil and his crew, I am sure I'd hit some character max here on Yelp. Let's leave it that if you want your outdoor space transformed from weed garden to stunning, at a great price and by one of the most genuinely nice guys in any business, GSE is the contractor you want. I'm in home finance so I hear the stories often. I'm aware of the number of contractors who will not live up to what they promise. Phil and GSE are not in this camp. Truly impressed and appreciative and definitely willing to recommend!
