We wanted to replace our 25 years old roof. Then we can install solar panels. Alex was recommended to us by our neighbor. He educated us about the whole process and gave us a very competitive quote. Our roof was done just in time for recent big rain. I was not sure about the composite materials originally as we had tiles before. But it came out great. We are really happy with it. Now we are moving forward with the solar project.

Cosmos price was competitve although communication was touch-and-go. The subcontractors they hired left a big mess, in the attic space, gutters, and around the property. Their roofing crew were friendly but sloppy - staples that missed the rafters and plenty of nails and staples that went through exposed eaves (this should not happen). From Cosmos' other jobs, it looks like some crews work with better quality. We would use Cosmos again but only with a commitment to clean up, staple & nail correctly, and repair nailing mistakes.

We read yelp reviews of roofers near us and asked 2 companies for a quote on roofing and gutter screens. Both shared similar information on roofing options and the Cosmos bid was ~10% lower. Cosmos is a family firm and was very responsive to any questions along the way.

This company working next door for days with foul dangerous melted tar machine making the air in our house smell.
Don't use this terrible roof style. Do a double layer touch-on roof. If you slap a coat of white rubble paint on it every few years it will last decades. Ours is 25yrs old and looks great.

We just had a roof done by Cosmos, and they did an excellent job. It is a Cool Cap Energy Star roof with a 20 year guarantee, and they did it on time and with minimal stress on our part. The crew was very professional, with one contact person that knew everything that needed to be done; it was really an excellent experience. Cosmos did my old roof many years ago, so I stuck with a winner. Highest recommendation!

I was recommended to Cosmos by a friend and I'm sure glad I was. I needed a full re-roof before I could get solar panels. Alex and his team were very professional yet personal at the same time. Alex gave me many options and explained what would be best for my situation and never once tried to upsell me on anything I didn't need. The pricing was very reasonable and so were the extra options that I chose to add (gutters & gutter covers).

I had Cosmos replace my roof 6 years ago. It is a flat roof on an Eichler. They replaced the roof with a thermal cap sheet that does make it considerably cooler. Since then there have been progressively louder and louder roof noises. It is not expansion and contractions. I have lived in Eichlers for over 40 years and I know that noise. This noise is from animals on the roof. Cats are the worst but even squirrels are bad. It sounds similar to walking on paper over a rug but loud enough that it sound like a rippling firecracker and wakes me up in the middle of the night.

Alex and his crew first inspected the roof, determined that it couldn't be patched, and provided us with a cost estimate, choices of roofing material and colors, and a very detailed description of what they were going to do. To begin with, we took quotes from many companies in South bay area ranging from family owned to big ones, well established to new comers and have learnt a lot through the process. Cosmos is well established family owned business which we decided to go with. Reasons being, they are in this business for long where companies rollover after some years so that they don't have to honor the warranties

This is an update to my Cosmos Roofing issue. I never meet Alex. This morning Alex came to my home and checked the roof. He immediately said this area of the roof needs to be redone and they will get it on a schedule. Took him less than 5 minutes to realize what occurred and what did not look right once he got on the roof.
This gave me confidence that something odd occurred during the retirement transition of Rich and the office move that took place. I learned lot's of people are still involved to stand behind work. Alex is a good communicator. So when Lei Y's review says Alex was straightforward

We got a quote with a detailed breakdown of the costs after Alex came by for a thorough inspection. He was very straightforward with no sales pressure. Alex also provided with a list of properties that had the roof work done by cosmos roofing for reference.
Because I was out of town for a while, Alex was very accommodating and we were able to change the date to fit my schedule.

For the last 6 weeks, I've been calling and emailing Cosmos Roofing. They have not ever returned my calls or emails. All these great reviews about Alex and being so responsive, but maybe their service is no longer excellent. I would expect at least one return call that they are too busy to help me!
Update: I continued to email/call Cosmos and finally connected with Alex. He said they'd been swamped with calls, and apologized for not responding quickly. Once we connected, Alex was very helpful and responsive, and they did a fine job re-roofing my house. The roof performs extremely well

I called Cosmos for a roofing estimate to replace my roof. There was no rush but I knew it was time to replace. Cosmos came out, climbed up on the roof and I watched him measure and take notes. He did let me know that work couldn't be started until spring due to the amount of moisture in the air and to the work demand for El Nino.
Weeks go by, maybe two months, I call them to remind them they owe me an estimate. No return call and have never received my estimate. If the business is this poorly run, I strongly urge you to look elsewhere.

Roll back the clock to 2002. Cosmos replaced our shake roof with a Presidential TL (top of the line) composition roof. Big roof, and they did it really fast -- 2 days. They replaced all the gutters and downspouts, added a solar roof fan, added vents -- the whole thing. I was mostly happy with the roof -- lifetime roof, 8 year warranty, but the shingles didn't quite line up and for all that money I wanted something nicer looking. I wasn't pleased that the workmen used a corner of my yard as a toilet.
