Joanna's integrated approach to her landscape designs comes from a background of varied interests and job opportunities. For more than 30 years she has worked with property owners throughout the Mid-Atlantic region and beyond, to establish remarkable bonds between residents and their land.
Having worked in award winning design-build firms for twenty years, as well as garden centers, architects' offices, and landscape architects' offices, Joanna has accumulated a broad and deepening knowledge of her vocation. She loves to travel to gardens throughout the world to learn and gather inspiration and ideas.
Local arboretums, colleges, and garden clubs are other opportunity venues Joanna employs to learn and share her vision and creativity. Approximately 16 years ago, her endeavors to improve upon the process of designing and installing gardens brought her to the realization that to do something right, you have to do it yourself.

An initial on-site consultation is the preliminary phase of the design process and launches the ongoing communication that is essential to a successful horticultural or hardscaping project. You and Joanna Falini discuss your goals, your preferences, your lifestyle and your dream for the grounds. The on-site consultation consists of a 1-hour to 2-hour visit at your home to determine the project scope.
Avondale Stone wall retains severe hillside slope, making the back yard usable with many opportunities for entertaining, dining, and gardening. It provides erosion control to stabilize the area. A custom cedar pergola sits atop stone pillars and stone walls that surround a sunken hot tub. The pergola gives the hot tub experience added elements of enclosure and architectural interest, and can be decorated with strings of lights.
My husband and I called three established, well-known Main Line design-build landscaping firms to help us with our rather difficult and unique yard. Joanna was the only one who offered a positive, creative and can-do approach to our situation.
