E.P. Gates Construction & Realty was founded by Gattis Gates in 1916, and was handed down to his son Earl Paris Gates. Eighty years later, in 1996, the company was bought by his grandson Chuck Talley. Together with his wife, Jennifer, the Talleys expanded the business into something much more diverse and dynamic than what the company started as.

If you give 60 day notice it's for them to walk people through your house while you still live there. They REFUSE to cooperate with me for when they schedule potential renters. " we are showing the house and by law we only owe you a 24 hour notice" that is the respect they have for their tenants. I begged for better treatment for them to just to sync with me prior to scheduling while I still live there. The response was "by law we will provide you with a 24 hour notice". Most management companies wait for the tenant to move out. Nope, these guys do it while you are there by force.

Unfortunately I can’t give a negative five star review, but if I could, I most definitely would. My husband and I lived in an apartment that we rented from EP Gates Realty & Construction for almost 3 years. We had a few problems in those years (roaches coming in through an open sewer line in our apartment) but were able to solve most of those problems. However, around this time last year, we discovered mold in our apartment. I found it behind our bed and then found it behind other furniture and in the closets. I called EP Gates for help with the situation. They sent their handyman who improperly

I have nothing bad to say about E.P. Gates, but I would not recommend them to anyone I know. The skylight in my kitchen leaked after a heavy rain for the 2 years I rented and was never fixed. It was in this condition the day I moved in, but it was fixed in less than half a day for the tenant that moved in after me. I know this because E.P. Gates did not wait until I moved out -- they made the repairs to my apartment the last week to prepare for the new tenant while I was still renting. When I gave my 60-day notice, I received a list of responsibilities that had to be completed before my move out

The staff is completely disorganized, and unprofessional. There is no systematic aproach to any facet that involves good business practices. They are dishonest and slacking in responsibility. And upon first impression it was noted that the owners are lazy and half caring for any of their tenants and properties.

Garbage. These sue happy people are the problem with this country. They do not take responsibility for their properties and try and make their tenants pay for their lack of ability to run a buisness. My advice. Stay away. Far away.
