Unlike some other companies that feature designs by other landscape architects/designers, all pictures featured in this website are projects designed by Ching Lin, the owner. A successful landscape designer must possess a basic knowledge of horticulture, civil engineering and architecture, as well as all aspects of landscape construction.
A good design not only delivers the best possible product to you according to your needs, budget and existing site context, it can also save you money and a potential headache. Landscaping is not just planting boxwoods and azaleas. You need to have knowledge of horticulture, civil engineering, and architecture.
If you believe that the first impression is the most important one, you can't ignore the importance of your driveway entrance. The mailbox, plantings, lighting, curb, apron, gate, fence and paving material are all equally important in creating an inviting and beautiful curb appeal. It should also reflect your own personality.
An entryway should provide a welcome and pleasant feeling, guiding your guests toward the front entrance of your home. It is more than just a mere walkway with some foundation and plantings. You can incorporate a courtyard or garden, or place a bistro table so you can watch the kids play on the street or socialize with your neighbors.
The masonry in a landscape is called hardscape. No matter how magnificent hardscape can be, it lacks the softness and intimacy of personal space. Last spring, my husband and I were in search of a reputable and reliable company to work with landscape design. We had just put in a pool and needed a lot of work done to the yard as well as a patio and fire pit. We met with several other local companies and we were still at a loss.
