It's simple, "Do it right the first time!" While living up to that philosophy isn't taking the easy road, or the cheapest road, it is the right road. It's our experience that allows us to remain competitive on quotes without taking the shortcuts that other landscapers may take. Our primary focus is in landscaping "hardscapes".
No, a permit is typically not necessary for most landscaping projects. So, since there's no permit and inspection process, how do you know if a landscaping job is done right? The fact is most homeowners won't know if a job is done right. Yes, the project will look good on the surface, but as with many other things in life, it's what's underneath that makes all the difference in the world.

Mark and crew did an excellent job creating a custom fire pit and custom landscaping around it! I had a challenging situation where old landscaping needed to be matched up with the new stuff. I was a unsure if this was going to look right when done, those thoughts were quickly put to rest! I couldn’t be happier with the outcome! Thanks for a job well done, I’ll be recommending you to friends and family.

A-1 Landscaping installed retaining walls on our property less than 5 years ago. All of them are leaning now. After repeated attempts to work with A-1 to fix the problem, I finally contacted 4 other landscaping contractors for quotes to fix the walls. EVERY contractor told me they had been paid to fix other walls that A-1 had installed. I am now stuck with a $15,000 repair bill.

I have worked with Mark and A1 Landscaping for over 10 years now at two different houses. He's friendly, thoughtful, professional, and a perfectionist. I've never had a single complaint about any part of the process or the completed job. I have worked with other landscapers in the past and it taught me to really appreciate what Mark is able to bring to the table. My name is Mark Bursaw, owner of A-1 Landscaping. Lisa Mills hired us 9 years ago in 2005 to build a wall out of block that she supplied. It was not the right block for that application, not having any 'pins or lip connection system'. We put a solid gravel base under it, glued every block and put in well over what the industry recommends for drainage, which is at least 12" of 'clear stone or pea gravel'. We searched high and low and ended with A-1 Landscaping. Mark was very easy to work with and explained every detail to us and provided us with an exact estimate within our budget. We had all of our landscaping reworked around the house and mulch replaced with stones. The look is amazing it's great to know we don't have to refresh the beds each year. We were referred to A1 Landscaping by several friends. Working with Mark and his team was great - they were professional, suggested changes that really improved the end result of our project and finished on schedule. Mark even made sure our neighbor's questions were answered. We had our side yards re-graded, a new patio installed in the back yard, and all new plantings in the front. Our landscaping looks amazing!

We were having a water problem with water going into the basement we called A1 landscaping and Mark came that day to help us out and give us ideas on how the water was coming in and what to do. He quickly figured out where the water was coming from and made every effort to redirect the water away from the house with success until we can get it fixed when it warms up. Mark gave us great suggestions to get rid of the water problem for good. Thanks for your quick response it saved us more potential water damage in our basement and we look forward to having you do our landscaping in the spring.

A1 Landscaping does amazing work! The owner Mark is a pleasure to work with, always professional and just the type of guy you would want to do business with. My wife and I hired Mark and his team to build a brick patio and do some landscaping around the fence in our back yard. Not only was the quote A1 offered us the lowest of the four we received on the job, but their time frame to complete the job was also very impressive. The end product was amazing!
