Third Generation Heating & Air Conditioning is family owned and operated by Rick Chidester and his wife Sierra Chidester. Rick's family has been in the Industry for over 50 years. Rick's Grandfather entered the Industry in 1958, followed by his Father in 1974, and lastly joined by Rick himself, in 1993.

We had an A/C condensation plate that leaked through our ceiling and all over the house. We tried to go through another company our home warranty company assigned to our claim. That company was horrible.... so my husband called Third Generation! They came out same day, did not oversell us or try to commit us to work that didn't need to be done. They were quick, reliable, honest and so helpful in a stressful situation! Hopefully we don't have further issues with our A/C, but if we do, we feel very secure knowing that we found Third Generation for all our service needs.

The owner of this company, Sierra, does not have any business ethics and lacks communication with her employees and clients. The charges are not explained thoroughly from the "get-go" so you need to follow through on your own and ask tons of questions! Installing thermostats is one price, checking the air conditioners is another price, installing filters another charge and so on and so on. $700+ dollars later with a date to come back for maintenance that is not confirmed would be another charge!!! Find another company that is up front about the end cost. Awful customer service!!!!

If I can chose 0 stars I would. Bunch of rip offs! So disappointed in the behavior of the owners, very unprofessional techs and just outright incompetent. I can't believe instead of fixing the problem they chose to blame the customer, Me. If they couldn't fix my AC they should've just said that! Its one of the worst heat waves ever in Southern California and Ive been without an AC for 3 days and every day one of their techs came out and nothing was fixed. I am not happy with this company, I feel like they have taken advantage and am not pleased with their work. They said they would instal our new AC system on Monday, the wrong parts were ordered they said we will be back Wednesday. They were just going to leave us without AC until my mother in law asked them to at least put it back together until the correct piece came. We have an elderly and a baby at home. Then they came back Wednesday and the unit did not cool down our house. It was so hit inside. We called again they sent someone out at 830 which we were thankful for but again he said oh it

I messaged them last night as well as 3 other HVAC companies. They were the first to answer and they had an available slot for today. They told me they would call 30 minutes prior to arrival and they did. They actually came before the quoted window which was great! Caleb is very knowledgeable, quickly diagnosed the issue, and provided excellent repair services. I will definitely use them again.

When I called “Thirdgenhvac” for an appointment, I was immediately surprised by the friendliness of the tone and voice answering my call. Sierra gave me an appointment for the next day between 12-4. At 11:30 that day, the phone rang and Sierra told me that the technician is on his way. Rick, the owner and son arrived early. I asked what the service fee was to be, and Rick quoted me a very reasonable service fee amount. I explained to Rick that my AC would start and then quit, then start again and quit again. Both men put on their booties and after about 1.5 hours, Rick, due to his experience

Excellent service. I have had other companies do an air-conditioning tuneup service. When I saw what third generation did I knew the other companies were doing the bare minimum.I said to the owner wow your really going above and beyond.The owner said that's how it should be done in the first place.Very impressed will use them from now on for all my air conditioning and heating needs

Third Generation was the only company that would service a commercial heater/A/C unit that I had on an office trailer. They came out to fix it the first time with no issues after they recharged the system. After that, there were issues with the unit freezing over and they came back out at least 4 other times to try and correct the problem. All without a service charge. I am confident that the level of service they have provided is something that everyone can expect. Would certainly use them again.

These guys were AMAZING!!! I called them at 8am in the middle of a heat wave and they were at my door at 11:30am! They even had little booties on their feet covering their shoes! I appreciated this VERY much since we do not wear shoes in how home! They were in out very quick. They were efficient in replacing the part that needed it. They even checked my air filters for me! Best of all they were very affordable! Very friendly and nice! First rate company I am very impressed and will always call them for heating and AC issues! Thank you Rick!

Worst experience in my life. It started with a blower motor replacement, 700.00. Then they informed me that I now needed to upgrade my breaker to 60 amps, so I did, problem still exists, now they want 650.00 to release freon, they said I have too much. Are you kidding me? This unit is less than 10 years old,I assure you no one snuck in and
gave me a freon boost in the middle of the night.
These people are criminals disguised as repair men.
I DON'T RECOMMEND USING THIS COMPANY FOR ANYTHING, They are the worst decision I've made regarding home repairs and I'm warning anyone

Super pleasant experience. Just bought our house and went through our first heat wave when we realized the units just weren't performing very well. I was envisioning having to purchase new units or being out thousands of dollars in repairs. A neighbor recommended Third Generation because of her great experience, and boy we weren't disappointed. No upsell or crazy warnings of how old the system was. They pumped up the freon, took their time watching and testing the system over a good hour and half and didn't charge and arm and leg. In the middle of the worst CA heat wave I can remember, our air conditioner made a loud CLUNK, and would not kick on. I called our trusted plumber (Joe Hinzman of JJ's Plumbing) to see if he knew of a good HVAC contractor who might be able to help us, and he highly recommended Third Generation. I called Sierra at Third Generation and she said a tech could be here within the hour! 45 minutes later, Lonnie arrived and discovered a contactor had gone bad in the condensing unit. 15 minutes later our A/C was up and running! I can't say enough about Third Generation's quick response time

Wow I thought I was going to have to wait several days to get my 3rd floor A/C back working. I had called a number of other shops and they were either into next week or not available at all. Called 3rd Generation Air and they were able to make an appointment for me this morning. Jesse came out and was able to diagnose the problem quickly, which was a loose connection to a motor up in the attic. My office is once again hospitable. This all took less than 30 minutes and was very reasonably priced. Great service and I would highly recommend!

I had them do an escrow HVAC inspection on a house I am buying. Rick did a very thorough job on the inspection. He was at the house for about two hours and appeared to check just about everything. He was able to give me an immediate estimate of repair costs. He seemed very knowledgable about what he was talking about and did not seem to be inflating the costs or work that needed to be done.
The only down side is that my copy of the inspection report is hand written on carbon copy paper which is especially hard to read. I would have preferred a digital report like most inspection companies

Had them out for a routine maintenance of our air conditioner. Paid quite a bit of money for it. They didn't complete the service although they said they did. They NEVER checked the primary or secondary lines to our main air conditioner. They didn't check if they were clogged or there was any problem. Yes, there was a leak. Now 3 weeks later it has caused tremendous water damage. 3 weeks ago, it could have dried out on its own with minimal damage if any. Had they completed what we paid for, this would not have happened. We now need to replace part of our wall and ceiling. NOT happy. This
