In 1979 Doug Bates began college as an Art/Business Major the same year he started Bates Painting Company. His artistic skill combined with integrity and high customer demand turned his summer job painting houses into a full time career. Douglas Bates is a well-known Kansas City Artist who was an instrumental part of developing The Crossroads Arts District.

We could not be any more pleased with the new look in our bedroom, hallway and stairs. The crew was professional, courteous and delightful to have in our home. The work was far beyond what I could have predicted. They did the deep repair work that will make the room look fantastic for years, repairing cracks in the walls of our older house. If you want quality and meticulous care, this is your company. They are also great at advising on what to do if you have questions. And the owners are people of great integrity and warm hospitality!

This is the second time we've used Bates Painting Company. Their work is truly outstanding. In addition, to the quality of their work, the staff is very respectful of your space and time. They clean up at the end of each work day and provide you with timeline updates as well as requesting feedback on the work they've completed. I highly recommend this company.

Bates Painting did a fantastic job on our remodel. They listened to what I wanted and then put their artistic talent to work. They created two custom color faux looks for the first floor and 1/2 bath. And the distressed country French look they created on our kitchen cabinets is exquisite! They were courteous about cleaning up each day. And their attention to fine detail was impressive. Clearly they take pride in their craft and it shows!

Bates Painting Company recently worked in the house I spend a lot of time in. They were very punctual and their work is astounding. The edges are fantastic and their work looks amazing. I would gladly use this service again. The employees that I met were kind, wonderful people. They had an air of professionalism and their design choices are carefully considered. All of their advice is as well thought out and coordinated as can be seen even in the color choices of their jackets.
